Appearance Ash is a skinny, slender preteen with black hair, slightly tan skin, and brown eyes with two distinctive Z-shaped markings underneath each eye. Ash's pupils were not visible during the Indigo League and through the Diamond & Pearl series until the Best Wishes series made them more profound and distinguishable.

While Ash wears a few different outfits, he always wears a red baseball cap, which changes depending on the region he is in. Without a cap, Ash is shown to have a cowlick and a narrow, triangular, and edgy tuft of hair in the middle of his forehead that comes to a point on the right side. In the XY and XYZ, Ash wore a red hat with a white brim and white semicircle symbol, a blue and white short-sleeved jacket, a black t-shirt, dark gray pants, black fingerless gloves with red cuffs, red high-top sneakers with black accents, and a gray, bluish green, and white backpack.

Ash's body looks the same only that he has tufts of hair on each side of his head that covers the top of his ears. Also, his Jolt - like marking underneath his eyes are smaller than usual.

Ash is very determined to be a great Pokémon Trainer. Personality-wise, Ash is a strong person, shows confidence when battling and shows a lot of sympathy towards Pokémon, usually helping and befriending them through his long journey. As a result, Ash doesn't like Trainers who mistreat Pokémon, such as Damian, Paul, and Shamus. Ash also serves as a role model for many people such as May, Dawn, N, Serena, Sawyer, Lillie, and Goh. In fact, he often astounds people with his skills and abilities, and unpredictability. Ash's strategy and tactics in battle are usually problem-solving, including thinking on his feet during special matches or that relate to the special and unique abilities of Pokémon. Also, Ash even takes input from his friends and has always helped him whenever he was stuck in a jam.

Ash is generally kind, brave, enthusiastic, compassionate, passionate, adventurous, selfless, fair-minded, trusting, and good-natured. However, he can be stubborn, hot-headed, short-tempered, impatient, cocky, reckless, and sometimes impulsive at times. During his journey, Ash realized that some of those traits were affecting him, as they had caused him to lose some of his gym battles. By recognizing this, Ash trained himself for his rematches and keeping those parts of himself in check so they would not only affect him in battle again, but also outside of it as well. Although those traits still remain, they have been shown to be less of a problem during his Pokémon battles. Thanks to his hard work, Ash has corrected the hot-headed, cocky, and impulsive parts of his personality, though he still shows them if Pokémon were being mistreated, some of his friends teasing him, and various other reasons. Since then, Ash has demonstrated much greater maturity and level-headedness both in and out of battles. In addition, he has given everyone around him good advice to better themselves and their goals.

Serena

Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ This section, or a part of it, has been transcluded from Serena (Kalos); any changes involving it should be made there instead. / Serena is a fair-skinned, average height teenage girl with blue eyes, long legs and a narrow, slender frame. Serena has long honey blonde hair with her front streaks of hair being waist-length while the hair at her back is longer in a loosely tied ponytail, if it wasn’t tied in a ponytail it would most likely be hip length. She wears a dark pink hat with a black band and a pair of white sunglasses on top. Her dress is a black sleeveless high waisted outfit. The skirt is red pleated with 7 sections on the front and back with large pockets. Serena wears charcoal black thigh length socks and black high top shoes with pink pokéball-shaped logos on the outer sides. There are, however, a few cosmetic changes between games and the anime. They are:

Appearing a little younger and shorter than her game counterpart. Serena's fingernails are short and trimmed like most other characters in the show, rather than long like her game counterpart in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Serena's shirt collar is white instead of black. The sunglasses on the hat are replaced by her tiny bow. Serena does not have a Mega Ring. Serena's eyes are blue despite her game counterpart's eyes being naturally gray, though her game counterpart's contacts can be changed to blue. Serena's hat appears larger and more curved, resembling a straw hat. Serena wears high‐top shoes unlike her game counterpart, who wears sneakers; however, they are in the same design. The line going down from the top of her shoes to down to the soles is one straight line, while on her game counterpart's sneakers, they are two separate lines. Serena also does not have the purse that her game counterpart does, instead having a backpack.

Starting from "A Showcase Debut!", Serena cut her long hair to shoulder‐length hair (or a short‐layered bob). She now wears a new reddish‐pink fedora, a bright pink dress with a white collar, her gray top underneath, and a red waistcoat with the blue ribbon which Ash gave her in "Under the Pledging Tree!" on her chest. She wears the same black stockings as before, but she has a new pair of brown boots. Her boots are mid‐knee length and have a strap of darker brown at the front of each boot. The rims of her soles are brown, while the soles of her boots are gray. There is no heel on her boots. She wears this outfit wherever she goes, with the exception being during Pokémon Showcases and the Dance Party in "Party Dancecapades!".

Personality Serena is a very nice and polite girl, although she was rebellious and disobeyed her mother at the start of her journey. In addition to her kindness, she is very helpful, always concerned about what her friends are doing, especially Ash, and tries her best to keep their spirits up. She also has a passion for fashion and clothes, always searching for the prettiest and most stylish outfits to wear. As a result, she hates getting dirty and being soaked in mud. Much like May, Serena also adores trying out the various popular food spots in cities and towns, especially desserts. However, unlike May, Serena is very modest and demure, at one point in the anime, she almost got injured when she chose to hold her skirt down while falling rather than making a safe landing. She also gets incredibly flustered and embarrassed very easily, especially when someone teases her about her not‐so‐secret crush on Ash. She also easily gets jealous if someone, like Miette, attempts to take Ash away from her.

Originally, Serena was uncertain about what paths or careers to pursue in life; she also expressed little ambition towards becoming a full‐time Pokémon Trainer in the early stages of her journey, and her mother wanted her to be a Rhyhorn racer.

This section, or a part of it, has been transcluded from Bonnie; any changes involving it should be made there instead. / She is a small and slender young girl with shiny golden-blonde hair tied in a side ponytail with an orange band, and sky blue eyes. She wears a brown short-sleeved top with a soft black ribbon tied into a bow on the neckline, knee-length black compression shorts covered by a puffy white mini skirt resembling a cloud, pink colored Mary Jane shoes and a yellow shoulder bag. After meeting Squishy, a Zygarde Core, Bonnie's bag has been sewn with an extra slot to hold Squishy in it. Other outfit When she sleeps, Bonnie wears Tyrantrum pajamas.

In "A Rush of Ninja Wisdom!", "The Legend of the Ninja Hero!" and "A Festival of Decisions!"; Bonnie wears a pink ninja suit.

When she goes swimming, Bonnie wears a Slowbro swimsuit. While in Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, she wears a Ducklett swimsuit.

Personality Bonnie has a great love for Pokémon. While is too young to be a Pokémon Trainer, Bonnie still has strong ambitions and goals of becoming one. Bonnie is sometimes forgetful, such as over the fact she is not old enough to be a Trainer or that she is the younger sibling. Bonnie is also supportive of Ash and Clemont.

Bonnie enjoys caring for Pokémon and is very protective of those under her care. She is curious and enthusiastic when encountering new Pokémon as well.

Appearance Clemont is a short and skinny young boy with fair skin, blue eyes, and messy medium-length bright yellow hair with a lightning-bolt shaped tuft on top. He wears a blue and yellow jumpsuit, glasses, and black and white tennis shoes. He stores his inventions in the black and white backpack he calls his "Clemontic Gear."

Underneath his clothes, Clemont wears a white tank top, white socks with blue stripes, and light blue bloomers with horizontal dark blue stripes and a matching ribbon.

Personality Clemont is recognized as a very keen inventor, even though his devices do not always function as he had planned. Regardless of this, he is dedicated to the field science and is known to be one of the greatest students at his school. Although Clemont enjoys science, he may fear something if it defies logic. Clemont also has a fear of standing in front of a camera, also known as photophobia, which shows his asocial side.

Clemont is bashful, not only blushing while in front of a camera but also whenever Bonnie asks a girl to take care of him. It can be a merit such as when a disguised Team Rocket trio praised his invention, he shyly thanked them; but mostly it is a flaw, such as how he immediately though Chespin would prefer Carrie over him after seeing Chespin having a good time on chowing down her snacks.

Clemont takes his job as a Gym Leader very seriously. This is especially shown when Team Flare attempts to invade the Lumiose City Gym to use it for their own personal gain. Clemont tried everything in his power to take back what is rightfully his.

Clemont loves and cares for Bonnie deeply. He tends to supervise Bonnie to prevent her from running away too far, and also moderates and checks on her health and well-being. He always sees protecting her as his first priority. However, he usually gets flustered whenever Bonnie tries to do matchmaking for him, roasts the unreliability of his inventions, or simply refuses to obey him.

In the XY series, her disguises have her wearing a long and pale blue sleeved v-neck jacket with a purple belt tucked on her jacket, a white long-sleeved button shirt underneath, a white ribbon on the collar, white pants, and matching purple heels. she wears a white hat to make her hair seem shorter and sunglasses. Her sunglasses are also used as her headband while wearing her hat.

As Jessilie, one of her first disguises, she wears long-sleeved gowns in different shades of purple with dark purple linings. The saggy skirt is long enough to reach her feet. She also wears a large, light pink ribbon at the back of her dress with its sash hanging loose on each side and a white and fluffy extended collar on her dress. She also wears purple high heels, a necklace with a pink diamond pendant on her neck, and an emerald shaped earrings with gold outlines. Her hair is tied in a large bun with a sapphire shaped jewel with gold outlines at the center of her head.

Later when she registers for the Pokémon Showcase, she wears a very short-sleeved and dark magenta short dress, a red belt on her waist, and brown flats. Her hair is then tied in a normal bun and her half bangs are showing at the right side to cover her right eye while retaining her emerald shaped earrings with a pink round pendant necklace on her neck from her first outfit.

When she briefly works with Dr. White before she rejoins with James and Meowth as Jessilia, she wore an off-white long sleeve and loose button shirt with a pink shoal to cover her shoulders, blue denim shorts, and brown sandals. Her hair is tied in tangles while she is not seen wearing her lipstick and her green pearl-like earrings.

In the XY series, Jessie is shown to be capable of showing love. As seen in one episode when she and her Wobbuffet were saved by Dr. White and his female Wobbuffet from drowning into a river, she falls in love with him, going so far as to work as his assistant in her Jessilia disguise. However, she dislikes rejection and shortly returned to James and Meowth after finding out that Dr. White liked someone else. She later throws away the bouquet of white flowers that she was planning on giving to Dr. White. This trait is also shown when she saw Steven Stone's photo in Sawyer's notebook and became love-struck upon seeing Steven himself.

Jessie also loves popularity when she aspires to become a Kalos Queen and became popular with many people.

In Good Friends, Great Training!, Jessie has the same personality of Serena's Fennekin, when ever happens to her hair since she gets wet by Tierno's Wartortle, or the Rain Dance of Ash's Goodra, Jessie gets really mad.

Appearance

At the start of Johto Journeys opening until the XY series the color of his hair changed from periwinkle to lavender.

When he competes in a PokéRinger in That's Just Swellow, James wears a pale yellow air military jumpsuit with a brown sailor fuku and the black round shape with an "R" symbol on each side of his shoulders, underneath is an off-white long sleeve button shirt, brown gloves, and black military shoes.

When they briefly had a day off, James wears two swimsuits in every season.

In A Way Off Day Off and Lapras of Luxury, James is seen in blue swim shorts. But in two episodes in Sinnoh, James wears a dark blue swimming trunks with and a red "R" sign at the center of his trunks.

Personality In James' debut anime appearance and onwards, James is initially seen as a calm and serious person who tends to recite the Team Rocket motto with more elegance and flair than his cohorts. As the series continued, however, much of the trio's original seriousness melted away.

In Holy Matrimony!, James shows his very sensitive side and intense fear when it comes to his wealthy family, particularly due to his heavily enforced, sheltered upbringing and the constant harassment he had endured from his childhood fiancée Jessebelle. His parents were negative influences, as shown when he finally grows up and displays a clear disdain and fear concerning their wishes to marry him off to Jessebelle.

These parents have been unworthy and abusive to James; in the episode "Mending a Broken Spirit", James's mother threw away his precious collection of bottle caps, which meant everything to him, and placed the empty cookie tin that held them back exactly where her son had hidden it. In « Holly matrimony » Both of them calmly closed their eyes and sipped their tea in the torture room, where Jessiebelle chased James with a whip to "educate" him. His mother is called him a "worthless do-nothing."

James sensitively questions whether he has a "duty to be manipulated", and he calls out his parents as being "lousy" due to their failure to realize the detrimental effects that Jessebelle's attitude had on his upbringing. He openly despises upper-class society, lamenting about how it seems to him that they have strict rules for just about everything; feelings which were most likely triggered by Jessebelle's constant criticism. In Holly matrimony, however, it is shown that before his rebellious attitude arose in him, James cared deeply for his parents. He also clearly cares for his grandparents, ("His nannies in the original version") , Nanny and Pop-Pop as seen in Sweet Baby James!.

Appearance Miette is a short young girl with fair skin, brown eyes, and short, yet layered dark blue hair that she secures with light blue maid-like headwear and an orange headband. She wears an elegant and fashionable outfit that consists of a teal shirt with long light blue sleeves, a sleeveless green overshirt with cyan squares on both sides, an orange tie, and cyan shorts with light blue lines. On her feet, she wears orange shoes and plain white socks that nearly reach her knees. For storage, she carries around an orange backpack with brown straps.

While performing in Pokémon Showcases, Miette wears blue headwear with long orange ribbons, a blue neck collar, a blue and white sleeveless maid dress, and white shoes with blue soles. She also wears orange rings around both of her arms and legs.

Personality Miette is a nice girl, who behaves politely, yet has a sassy side to her. However, she starts to tease Serena, first about her Poké Puff being "so-so", then claiming Ash will be her boyfriend (for she had figured out that Serena had a crush on him and was trying to make her jealous), thus causing the rivalry between her and Serena, though she had her own feelings for Ash as well. Miette also tries to get Ash's attention (by flirting with him) numerous times throughout the series, causing Serena to get annoyed and blush. Miette, along with baking Poké Puffs, loves to dress nicely, especially for certain events, such as Monsieur Pierre's dance party. Outside of Showcases, she considers Ash as her and Serena's "other competition". If it goes way too far, Serena has the tendency to shout Miette's name in a high-pitched voice.

Personality Aria is humble, despite being the Kalos Queen, even going as far as to wear a disguise to avoid the media attention. Despite this, she also wants to see people smile when Performers show off their skills and helps them when the need arises. When she wants to settle her mind, Aria often goes shopping for new clothes. She has also taken a strong interest in Serena, always checking on her, believing that she might become her successor in the future as Kalos Queen. As revealed in the past, when Aria was injured during the Master Class finals, she didn't want to leave and give up,hinting that she has confidence as well.

Appearance Aria is a fair-skinned girl with long strawberry pink-colored hair, scarlet eyes, and very wide hips. Occasionally, she wears light pink lipstick and mascara that's nearly invisible. Her most defining characteristic is her warm-hearted, cheery smile.

Since Aria is fashionable, she wears a wide variety of clothes. One of her most common outfits consists of a white blouse with a black collar, a pair of long, white gloves, and a blue striped necktie. She also wears a yellow and pink striped skirt, blue striped stockings, pink shoes, and a light blue bow on her head.

During the master class tournament, Aria wore a mainly white dress with yellow sides and a dark blue upside-down heart. She wears a dark blue underskirt beneath that and has a golden necklace with a cross as its symbol, along with medium-length white gloves. She wears light gray socks which go above her knees and knee-length white boots with heels that match her outfit.

When disguised as Ariana, Aria keeps her hair down in two twin ponytails tied by yellow rings. She wears a white collared top with frills resembling sleeves, high-waisted ankle-length black pants, and black and white heeled shoes. Her shirt also has a large hole in the back, which exposes the black bra she wears underneath. For accessories, she wears a white hat with a pale orange ribbon, a light blue bracelet, black rectangular glasses, and a black necklace that has yellow, blue, and pink triangles. She also carries around a pale orange purse.

Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ Lilly entered the Anistar City's Showcase. She, along with her opponents, Nini and Serena, had her Pokémon, Solrock, go find a ball to carry to the line to allow her to answer the questions. However, Lilly lost the round.

Lilly entered Couriway Town's Showcase, with her Solrock. However, she did not pass the first round.

Lilly attended Monsieur Pierre's dance party with her Pansage.

Pokémon the Series: XY Blanche entered the Coumarine Showcase with her two Meowstic. In the first round, she performed with her female Meowstic and decorated her with jewelery as the goal of the first round. She entered the second round with her male Meowstic, who, along with the female Meowstic, used Psychic on Blanche and themselves to dazzle the audience. However, Shauna won instead.[1]

Blanche was also seen in the waiting room in the Anistar City's Showcase, but did not pass the first round.[2]

Blanche was seen at Monsieur Pierre's dance party with her female Meowstic.[3]

Biography Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ Concetta competed in the Pokémon Showcase contest in Anistar City. She was against Blanche and another unknown Performer with her Scraggy, and lost to the unknown Performer alongside Blanche.

She was also seen attending a dance party held by Monsieur Pierre in between showcases.

Concetta later competed in Fleurrh City's Showcase, competing in the themed performance against Serena and Kazalie with her Scraggy, and lost to Serena alongside Kazalie.

She then obtained three Princess Keys offscreen and became eligible to compete in the Master Class in Gloire City. In the first round, she competed against Nini and Jessilee with her Scraggy, losing to Jessilee alongside Nini and being eliminated from the Master Class in the first round, much to her disappointment.

Personality Palermo has a very critical opinion of Performers. She believes a good Performer isn't just one that entertains, but the one that inspires strength through their performances. Watching Serena's performances, Palermo has taken an interest in her, promising she could teach her more.

Serena receives an invitation to Pokémon Showcase Emcee Pierre’s dance party! The whole gang wants to go, but each attendee must have a date. Serena asks a nervous Clemont, so Serena’s rival Miette asks Ash! Jessie and James are also in attendance, as is Kalos Queen Aria, and the event culminates in an exciting Tag Battle: Serena and Ash versus Miette and James!

When Eevee gets knocked down, Serena steps in to encourage it...and thanks to the bond between them, Eevee evolves into Sylveon and wins the battle! Afterward, Aria excitedly calls Showcase judge Palermo to tell her about the wonderful performance of a girl and her Sylveon...[1]

Shauna Appearance This section, or a part of it, has been transcluded from Shauna (Kalos); any changes involving it should be made there instead. / Shauna is a short young girl with tan skin and light green eyes. Her hair (which has a spiky tuft on her forehead) is long and brown and is kept in curly pigtails. Clothing-wise, Shauna wears a fashionable, feminine, and cute outfit that matches her personality. It consists of a dark pink T-shirt decorated with three black bows, very small blue denim shorts with black frills on the bottom, and dark pink ballet type shoes with short heels and matching ankle cuffs. For accessories, Shauna wears a dark pink wristband and a black frilly bobble on her right wrist. She also carries around a white and pink purse that matches her shirt, complete with a black bow. Other outfit When performing in Pokémon Showcases, Shauna wears a hot pink dress with two white stripes and a large black bow, along with a small short-sleeved white jacket and long white gloves going up to her forearms, all with black bobble additions. She also wears earrings with white bows on them. For footwear, Shauna has a pair of tall, hot pink boots with a flat heel on the soles. She wears knee-length white socks which have black bows on the sides to match up her boots. The soles on her boots are hot pink, but the pattern on the soles are unknown. The socks fold neatly over the top of her boots.

Personality Shauna is a cheery, polite and goofy girl, who tries her best to help her friends, including Tierno and Trevor. She also has a determined strong spirit when participating in Showcases. Shauna is Serena's friend and friendly rival and hangs out with her before the Showcases.

Appearence Nini is a short and slightly chubby girl with fair skin, brown eyes, and dark green hair styled into two pigtails, as well as puffy lips. She usually wears a white shirt with a short jacket, an orange skirt, and a small pink-striped red hat angled at the right side of her head. To complete her outfit, she wears white gloves, short white socks, and pink shoes. She also carries around a light pink purse and keeps a small red ribbon around her neck.

Personality Nini is polite and likes to make new friends and rivals, especially ones like Serena and Shauna. She is also a confident Performer, always aiming to teach the top.

Biography Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ Sara Lee debuted in Couriway Town's Pokémon Showcase. She originally had enough votes to proceed to the next round, but still lost against Jessie.[1]

She later appeared in Fleurrh City's Showcase, only to lost right after her own themed performance.[2]

She participated in Gloire City's final Showcase after managing to collect all three Princess Keys. Unfortunately, she was halted at the first round after facing off Serena and Miette.[3]

Biography Alouette competed in the Pokémon Showcase in Coumarine City. She was against Jessie and Shauna in the first round with her Furfrou. She trimmed her Furfrou to be a Furfrou with Pharaoh Trim to showcase its beauty. After all three participants showcased their Pokémon, the audience started to vote for their favorite. Alouette ended up to be at the second place but Shauna won the round, eliminating Alouette from the competition.

Biography Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ Amelia was first seen arriving in her home town, Fleurrh City, to participate in the Master Class Trial, when Serena saw her passing by, with assistants serving her. Meanwhile, a man showed her photo to Palermo, but Palermo only simply replied him and left, as she saw the proudness of the young lady. When Amelia entered the waiting room, her appearance made the other Performers nervous, because everyone knows that she is a great and strong opponent. She then elegantly seated with her two Pokémon, in which coincidentally opposite to Serena. As the last group of the first round, Amelia commanded her Dragonair and Espeon to use Attract against the Rhyhorn. Since the Rhyhorn had the opposite gender (which were male), they fell for her two female Pokémon, and made her won the first round. In the Free Performance Round, Amelia ordered Espeon to use Psychic, Rain Dance, and Hyper Voice while she told Dragonair to use Dragon Dance and Ice Beam as a combination, which created a nice performance.

The voting finally started, and Amelia pridefully thought she would be able to enter the Master Class. Unluckily, Serena won the competition, which was out of her expectation, making her and her Pokémon's hearts crushed by their own shock. Later, Amelia tried to argue with Palermo that she should be the winner of the showcase, which was heard by Serena. However, the former Kalos Queen told Amelia that the audience didn't like her show very much, meaning that she ought to strive for excellence with her Pokémon, which awakened her before she left.

Biography Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ Clarice competed in the Pokémon Showcase contest in Coumarine City. She was against Blanche and Serena in the first round with her Fletchling. She decorated her Fletchling with a hat and a shirt with a tie and she sent her Fletchling flying, allowing it to show its decoration. At the end of the first round, it was shown that Clarice and Serena lost and Blanche won.

Biography Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ Kayleigh is a performer, who entered the Brindille Showcase and participated with her Furfrou. However, their performance was stopped, as a wild Pancham was starting to perform as well.
