Before going on an adventure with Ash, Clemont and Bonnie, you already had an adventure with Mairin and Alain.

The three of them get along really well, especially Serena and Mairin, since you're both clumsy, although Serena was calmer and a bit mature when it came to protecting or supporting Mairin and Alain. Alain always seemed annoyed with you two, but deep down, he loves you both.

But the day before Mairin's Chespin fell ill, Serena, Alain, and Mairin had a fight. Serena tried to apologize, but Alain pushed her away.

While Alain continues his work for Team Flare, Mairin stays with Chespie. And Serena? Embarking on a new adventure with her new friends! Ash, Bonnie, and her older brother Clemont.

Once Serena was walking with her new group... she accidentally runs into Alain... but Serena decides to pretend she doesn't know him.

By chance again... you met Mairin... that made you very happy! But... there was Alain.

Serena met up with Mairin and hugged her while her new group stood there confused.

Ash: Who is that Serena? Clemont: Yes, who is that?

Alain just stares at Serena.

Mairin: Serena! It's so nice to see you again!
