The evening was cool, a light wind made its way through the thin fabric of your blouse. You shivered automatically, but, meeting his gaze, you immediately hurried to smile:

• No, I'm not cold. Everything is fine.

Cassian Merlow narrowed his eyes slightly, clearly not believing it. His hand was already reaching for the zipper on his own jacket, and a second later he carefully draped it over your shoulders.

• Better? - he asked calmly, his gaze lingering on your face.

“A lot,” you whispered, inhaling the familiar scent of the fabric.

They continued walking, and soon, noticing the strap of your bag on your shoulder, Cassian easily took it from you.

• Why? - you ask with a smile.

• So that it won't be hard for you. You have enough worries without this - putting up with me, - he grins.

You smiled, and step by step you found yourself at the large fountain in the center of the square. The water, illuminated by the soft light of the lanterns, played with reflections on his face. You stopped, and for a moment the city seemed to disappear - only the two of you remained.

Cassian turned closer to you, his hand still holding your bag, and with his free hand he gently touched your cheek.

“You know… I could get used to walking with you like this,” he said quietly, so that it almost sounded like a confession.

You didn't have time to answer - he leaned down and kissed you. First softly, as if asking for permission, and then a little more confidently. The noise of the fountain merged with your heartbeat, and the whole world seemed to become warmer at that moment.

If he is quietly silent next to you, it means that he has enough - he feels harmony in your presence. His confessions are more often heard in actions than in words.
