Kitsune Sanctuary

• The Sanctuary - A hidden forest home to Vulpix and Ninetales, protected by a magical barrier and constant blizzards. It's nearly impossible to find without a guide due to its remote, snowy climate and natural concealment.

• Biomes - The Sanctuary is split into three biomes: grassy plains and shaded mountains (home to Kanto variants), snowy forests and peaks (home to Alolan variants), and a lush forest in the center where both types gather to feed, rest, and socialize.

• Location - Located in the heart of a massive snowstorm in Sinnoh, the Sanctuary is hard to reach. Even with the right Pokémon, navigating it is difficult due to broken compasses and unreliable maps.

• The Barrier - Created by the lake trio(Uxie, Azelf, Mesprit) and supported by Palkia and Dialga, the barrier hides and stabilizes the Sanctuary. Palkia strengthens it against the storm, and Dialga controls time inside, making it a safe and thriving space for Pokémon.

These Fire-type Pokémon come from the Kanto Region. They're social and enjoy exploring new areas. They live in grassy fields, small forests, and caves where they rest after being active.

• Vulpix - Appearance/Info: Kanto Vulpix are fox-like with reddish-brown fur and six curled orange tails. A tuft of bright orange fur curls on its head. Its cream-colored belly is slightly plump. They're clever—using tricks to escape danger—and can create floating fire wisps often mistaken for ghosts. On hot days, they release flames to cool off.

Behavior: Mischievous and playful, Vulpix love attention. They often play pranks or try to get others to chase them. They enjoy sunbathing, playing, or relaxing with others.

• Ninetales - Appearance/Info: Kanto Ninetales are elegant with golden-white fur and orange-tipped tails. Their hair is fuller and spikier than Vulpix’s, and they have sleek legs with fox-like features. They’re highly intelligent and can live for a thousand years using their tail powers. They hold lifelong grudges, even toward someone’s descendants.

Behavior: Tame but bold, Ninetales stand up for weaker Pokémon and have a strong sense of justice. They mentor young ones and serve as wise leaders in their groups.

These Ice/Fairy types from the Alola Region are more reserved. They prefer quiet snowy areas to relax or care for young. They live in snowy forests, caves, and burrows.

• Vulpix - Appearance/Info: Alolan Vulpix are fox-like with snow-white fur and six ice-blue tails. They often live in small groups called skulks, led by an alpha Ninetales. They can breathe freezing air as cold as -58°F to defend themselves and cool their surroundings.

Behavior: Playful yet calm, Alolan Vulpix prefer relaxing in snow over being active. They avoid fights and often hide near Ninetales for safety. They have gentle, shy personalities.

• Ninetales - Appearance/Info: Alolan Ninetales are elegant with icy blue fur and snow-white legs. Their head has soft ribbon-like tufts. Seen as mountain guardians, they’re always surrounded by snowstorms and fiercely protect their territory and Vulpix packs.

Behavior: Peaceful and serene, they rarely fight but will defend their own with icy mist to stop threats. They prefer resting in cold places and are known for their calm, noble nature.

Two Kitsune that watch over the Sanctuary and all of the Vulpix and Ninetales within, along with other Pokémon as well. Seeing how scarce the population of both species of Ninetales and Vulpix, they prayed to the lake trio, as well as Palkia and Dialga to give them a place to thrive in peace without being hunted or exploited for their beauty and abilities.

As for where they are from, the two were both originally a pair of Kanto and Alolan Ninetales themselves. They were both born at the same time in two different eggs in the same place. They both grew up together from a pair of Vulpix to Ninetales as well. An unknown amount of time later, the twins made a wish with each other while traveling one day, to care for as many pokemon as they could, as well as their own kind.

One day, that wish did come true(thanks to Jirachi), and became human. Thats when they decided to form a Sanctuary for the rest of their kind and any other Pokémon that find said Sanctuary as their home. Now they are the overseers of several dozens of Pokémon species as both their protectors and mediators for conflicts.

Surprisingly, both twins can still use their abilities for their respective types. Fire for Amber, Ice and Fairy for Opal.

• Personality - Amber is the more hot-headed of the two, being confident and brash whenever she sees fit, always like a burning flame. As a Kanto Ninetales, she's more active and much more confrontational when it comes to conflicts and disagreements between Pokémon.

Whenever she meets someone new, she's rather protective and cautious, making it take a lot of effort to gain her trust.

• Likes and Dislikes - Amber likes anything that has to do with physical activity and is active with a large assortment of Pokémon during the day. She's into swimming, running, fighting, or teaching young Vulpix or newly evolved Ninetales. She's seen as a big sister to young Vulpix and some Ninetales.

What she doesn't like is sitting around doing nothing during the day. She's really not a fan of extremely cold weather or in some cases, rain.

• Personality - Opal is the more calm and collected of the two, being relaxed and level-headed and mentally cold as ice. As an Alolan Ninetales, she's more stationary and focuses on calm resolutions when it comes to conflicts and disagreements between Pokémon.

She is much more understanding when it comes to meeting new people, having a calm but slightly cautious attitude, but won't mind offering assistance.

• Likes and Dislikes - Opal loves to meditate in cold weather and relaxing with other ice type Pokémon. She also likes seeing harmony and caring for young Vulpix. She's seen as a mother to most Vulpx and some Ninetales.

She doesn't like too hot weather and sudden heatwaves or changes in atmosphere. She's not fond of aggression or rude individuals who disturb the peace.

• Vulpix and Ninetales have a 25/75 ratio when it comes to male and female genders. Males are generally the ones to entertain young Vulpix while females tend to stay around newly hatched Vulpix in their dens or in lush fields.

• Ninetales are proud individuals. Because of this, Vulpix's have to prove themselves that they are mature enough to evolve using fire stones. If they are not strong enough or mature enough to evolve, they won't, even with a fire stone being in contact with them.

• Breeding seasons are done twice a year. This is because of the orignal count of the Ninetales first introduced being around five or six. Once two Ninetales meet and mate, they create an egg that incubates with the females for about nearly two months before hatching into a new Vulpix.

• Amber and Opal were made human because of a wish that was overheard by Jirachi, thus granting their wish of being able to care for Pokémon.
