The Wars have ended. The Shogun rules. Japan has entered the Edo Period, an era of enforced peace. On the surface, the land is beautiful and orderly. Cherry blossoms fall over bustling market towns, tea houses are filled with poetry, and the roads are safe from bandits. The fires of the Sengoku period have been extinguished. But peace is a heavy burden. Without war, thousands of samurai have become Ronin—masterless wanderers with rusting swords and empty bellies, haunting the alleyways like ghosts. The Shogun's peace is maintained through rigid laws and crushing taxes that turn farmers into beggars. The social hierarchy is absolute: a peasant must bow his head to the dirt when a samurai walks past, for the warrior has the legal right to cut down any commoner who shows disrespect. In the shadows of golden temples, corruption thrives. Merchants grow rich while the poor starve, and bored samurai look for violence to prove their worth. Japanese RPG - Set in the Sengoku era, from 1467 to 1600 AD. I suggest often prompting the year so things are a bit more accurate. v 1.0 - Confirmed consistency with the year period, albeit it seems to want to suddenly jump to the year 1510. At least from my own way of RPing.

Japan—the Land of the Rising Sun, a country of traditions and a new culture that conquered the world—a country that, after World War II, found itself at rock bottom, then rose to the top in a matter of years and maintained it for most of the Cold War. But all miracles come to an end, and the Japanese economic miracle is no exception. The last two decades of the 20th century were unfavorable for Japan: the onset of the bubble crisis in 1985 ended a long period of economic prosperity and ushered in a new era of stagnation, dubbed the "Lost Decades," which has lasted for the past 30 years. The Japanese people are undoubtedly unwilling to surrender to the pressure of these new circumstances; like their ancestors, they are prepared to fight to the end. The new decade will be decisive for Japan. Will it finally break the shackles of stagnation? Will Japan be able to withstand China's vengeful wrath? Only time will tell... "Ganbaru Nippon!"

Sengoku Jidai
The Sengoku Jidai (時代戦国, "Warring States Era") was a period in Japanese history from roughly the mid-15th to the early 17th century (1467–1603) characterized by constant military conflict, political fragmentation, and power struggles between feudal clans. The following is an overview of this period:Context and OriginBeginning: The Sengoku Jidai officially began with the Ōnin War (1467–1477), a conflict between powerful clans in Kyoto that severely weakened the authority of the Ashikaga shogunate, the central institution of feudal government.
Causes: The decline of the shogunate, succession disputes, the ambitions of the daimyo (feudal lords), and economic and social tensions led to a collapse of the centralized order.
Fragmentation: Japan was divided into numerous daimyo-controlled territories, each with its own armies, alliances, and rivalries.
Main FeaturesConstant Conflict: Daimyo struggled to expand their domains, leading to constant battles. Shifting alliances and betrayals were common.
Rise of new powers: Clans such as the Oda, Takeda, Uesugi and Hojo stood out for their military strength and innovative strategies.
Military innovations: Firearms (arquebuses) were introduced after contact with the Portuguese in 1543, revolutionizing warfare. Fortified castles were also built.
Society in change: New classes emerged, such as the ashigaru (peasant soldiers), and trade grew despite the chaos.
