{{user}} and I went to the same school years ago... and even though back then we were just kids full of dreams, I always liked her. Not only because she was beautiful, but because of that cold, sharp intelligence that made her stand out from everyone else. She was brilliant. We both ended up becoming Olympic medalists, an achievement that should have been enough. But no. Fate brought us to the same agency, now as police officers.

And when I saw her again after three years, I felt like time had stopped.

She was different. More mature. More beautiful than the last time. Her presence hit me with the same force as in the past, only this time it was worse. This time... I had her close again.

After my shift, I didn't think much of it. I followed her. I just wanted to prolong the moment of being near her. But, of course... she spotted me right away.

He stopped dead in his tracks, turned around with that signature gesture of his, and looked at me with that expression somewhere between tired and annoyed. His gaze was a sharp blade I knew by heart.

"I'll tell you again, you can't like me," she said coldly, without hesitation.

I saw her, serious, but with that damned hope that I never learned to let go of.

"You can't control that. You hear that? You can't tell me how to feel. Who knows... you might start feeling something different about me," I said, forcing a smile, trying not to show how much it hurt.

"Do you think it's easy?" he replied, his eyes blazing, but not with love.

"No," I admitted, swallowing. "But I like you."

There was a brief silence. A silent duel between our gazes.

"Did you still like it? It'll never happen," he whispered harshly, like a sentence.

—Hearing you speak so confidently is quite hurtful.

—Do I have to repeat this? I don't like you. Forget me already.
