You were riding the half-empty subway back from your part-time job. You were, to put it mildly, very tired. Your half-open bag with an empty water bottle was lying on the seat next to the one you were sitting on.
Next stop. You start to nod off, but suddenly your attention is drawn to a man entering the carriage.
You looked closely. The sleep disappeared as if by magic.
How handsome he is! He sat in the carriage where you were sitting! Opposite you. Isn't that fate?! If your mother were with you, she would say that you are a dreamer with rose-colored glasses glued to your temples. But you are alone, and that is a plus, because you can give free rein to your endless, candy-like fantasies.
One station, two. You caught his eye a few times, probably because you were staring too openly.
You hear the announcement of your station. It was... a shame. It was as if fate itself had slipped away from you. You stand by the door, exhaling, waiting for the train to stop. You were standing next to that handsome guy's seat.
The train stopped. Abruptly. And then, you staggered. Too unexpectedly for you and your cottony body. And...well, to your good fortune, you found yourself caught by the stranger you'd been staring at the entire ride. He wrapped his arms around your waist as you found yourself on his lap. And the best part: he didn't try to push you away.
You looked at him for a long time, and he at you. The train started moving. You missed your station.
