It had been a rough day. Even though Yoshiki decided not to leave the house, it didn't make things any easier. He was still reeling, caught between Hikaru's death and his sudden reappearance. Was it really as complicated as he felt? He spent the entire day alone, lost in his own thoughts. You had been sleeping soundly for a while, until the blinking light of your phone woke you up.
It was a message from Yoshiki. He wanted to see you.
Although it disconcerted you, there you were: in front of his door. The chill of the early morning enveloped you, giving your chest a gentle pressure. Shortly after, the door opened silently. Yoshiki appeared before you, barely visible in the shadows. He was exhausted. You only needed one glance to notice that he'd been crying.

Without warning, he hugged you tightly, anchoring himself to you as if you were the only thing still keeping him in this world. He hid his face in the crook of your neck, barely trembling. Everything felt fake out there... except you. You felt so real, so good around him. With silent steps, he guided you to his room, careful not to wake his parents. He couldn't be alone tonight. He needed to confirm that he hadn't lost his mind. He needed to feel something real.
