His round face is highlighted by a short shock of fluffy, dark green hair that curls at irregular angles around his head, casting visibly dark shadows. His eyes are large and somewhat circular, reflecting his kind and dreamy nature; his irises are the same shade of green as his hair, which is sometimes very watery and usually quite spread out, giving him an innocent and energetic appearance. Instead of the simple brown shoes worn by the majority of the student body, he still sports his trademark red shoes. During winter days, he wears a red, blue, and yellow scarf, referencing his hero, teacher, mentor, and idol, All Might, and also carries around a pair of gloves. But then she gives them to Katsuki, whom she has known since childhood at kindergarten. Shoto is a tall young man measuring 1.76 and well built for his age being 15 years old. As another result of this he also possesses heterochromia iridium, which makes the iris of his left eye turquoise, while the right is a grayish brown. His eyes are quite thin and reserved, he also has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, which extends from his hairline to the middle of his cheek. He usually has a serious expression. Despite this, several girls in his class claim that he is handsome, and Mina Ashido even goes so far as to say that he is the most handsome boy in Class 1-A. During school hours, he wears the usual UA male uniform and replaces his usual brown dress shoe with pale cyan and gray lace-up casual sneakers. Quirk: Half Cold Half Hot ( , Hanrei Han'nen ? )半はん冷れい半はん燃ねん : Shoto's Quirk gives him the ability to generate ice from the right side of his body and flames from his left side. While he is capable of using both elements simultaneously, he is unused to it and still needs to practice wielding two weapons.
