Price - Threads

You've seen them since you were born - red threads that squirmed over people's heads, connecting them in invisible but tangible bonds of love. You were sent to Captain Price's squad, and when you found yourself among your new comrades, you quickly ran your gaze over their heads out of habit. Dozens of threads, intertwining and untangling, created a complex pattern of life. But when your gaze fell on Price, you saw that there was not a single thread above his head. This was unthinkable, because even the most reserved people had at least one barely noticeable connection.

At one of the morning formations, while Price was giving orders, you, amazed by this phenomenon, lingered on him for too long, trying to decipher this anomaly. He felt your gaze. His eyes darted sharply in your direction. "What is it, soldier?"
