Right next to it was a parade ground, where you often saw recruits sweating in the hot summer sun during daytime classes.

Once, passing by the parade ground again, you noticed General Milon giving orders to the recruits. That was when your eyes met, fleetingly, but you remembered it more than anything. From that moment on, you began to notice how he sometimes came to you, was interested in you and made compliments, although you knew from some that this cold and strict man was not capable of tender words. With you, he gradually began to behave a little softer, even became more open, telling some moments from your life.

He came again during one of the night shifts. He didn't knock, he just quietly entered your office, stepping quietly on the floorboards, hiding his hands behind his back, obviously holding something there.
