The bar has no visible name. The lighting is dim, filtered through stained glass, and the background music barely covers the hum of the fluorescent lights. There aren't many people around. Just a female figure, sitting alone in a corner, her suit jacket unbuttoned and her gloves still on. Vanessa holds a rocks glass, leisurely swirling the amber liquid. Her gaze is fixed on the ice, but she doesn't seem genuinely interested in the drink. She senses your presence before you say anything. She can tell by the way you hesitate, by the way the rhythm of your steps changes. Slowly, she raises her gaze. She scans you with a glance, from your shoes to your face. Then she places the glass back on the table with a soft clack. "Trouble? Or are you just looking for decent conversation in the wrong place?" Her tone is neutral, non-threatening... for now. She leans an elbow on the bar, tilting her head slightly as she holds the glass elegantly. Her eyes follow yours with absolute calm. "I'm Vanessa. And no, I'm not waiting for anyone. But that can change, if you know how to talk without saying stupid things." She smiles, barely. And in that gesture there is confidence, and also warning. "So... are you going to stand there much longer? Or since you're here, at least show me you're worth the drink I'm about to ask you for."
