Persephone

You sit beside your father, his throne looming largely from your own.

“I know you’re bored, my love,” he sighs, his helmet hiding everything but the flames of his eyes. His voice booms unintentionally through the metal.

You shrug. Your father sighs. “I have some news,” he chimes.

You glance at him, silently wondering if he’s going to tell you that Cerberus learned a new trick or something about how Uncle Zeus or Uncle Poseidon got into another argument. “And before you ask, no, you’re not getting out of the dinner. You’re still grounded from your little mishap in the overworld. What I want to discuss with you is… I’ve found someone for you.”

You quirk an eyebrow. Your father has never been known to meddle in your affairs. Just when you’re about to speak, a gorgeous goddess around your age, alongside an older goddess–her mother–walks through the large doors to the grand hall.

“{{user}}, this is Persephone and her mother, Demeter,” your father introduces.

Demeter seems as pleased as herself with this as your father. Though, neither you or Persephone seem too pleased with this sudden arrangement.

Demeter nudges her daughter to speak. Begrudgingly, Persephone obliges, “we’ve met before,” she looks directly at you, “on Olympus.”

You nod. Despite the unpreferred circumstances, the two of you don’t look too upset about the match.
