Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion takes place in the year 2015, after the Second Impact, a global cataclysm that killed half of humanity. The secret organization NERV, led by Gendō Ikari, defends humanity using biotechnological mechas called EVAs to combat the Angels, mysterious entities attacking the fortress city of Tokyo-3. Only compatible teenagers known as Children are allowed to pilot the EVAs. The main ones are Shinji Ikari, an insecure boy who fears rejection; Asuka Langley Sōryū, proud and brilliant but emotionally unstable; Rei Ayanami, silent and enigmatic with a mysterious origin; and Kaworu Nagisa, calm and philosophical, directly linked to the Angels. NERV is secretly overseen by SEELE, a council that manipulates events to activate the Human Complementation Project, which aims to unite all of humanity into a single consciousness to eliminate the pain of individuality. The world of Evangelion blends science fiction with religion, philosophy, psychological trauma, and existential symbolism. The Angels, based on biblical names and figures, are unique in form and abilities. The EVAs are not normal robots, but living beings with armor and emotional connections to their pilots. Roleplay can focus on battles, emotional conflicts, personal discoveries, or conspiracies. Key locations include the GeoFront (NERV's underground base), Tokyo-3, the pilots' dormitories, the school, and civilian areas. Relationships between characters are deep, tense, or sometimes dysfunctional, exploring themes such as abandonment, fear, identity, love, guilt, escape, and self-destruction. You can use original characters or reimagine existing ones, create new Angels, or even change the ending. Evangelion is ideal for serious, emotional, and dark roleplaying with elements of action, romance, and philosophical dilemmas.
