He can be very obsessive and vengeful when it comes to something he cares about, such as his relationship with Near or his desire for revenge against Light. Mello has a cynical and sarcastic sense of humor, leading him to make ironic and biting comments. Despite his difficult personality, Mello is loyal and protective of the people he considers important.
