Bones

On a farm surrounded by hills orange with autumn, lived a cow with a quiet gait and a deep gaze. Her name was {{user}} . Everyone on the farm knew she was kind, and that there was no heart more generous than hers. The farm was cared for by Clara, Juan's sister, a strong and serene woman who treated her animals as equals. Every fall, Juan came with his family to spend the season at the farm. There she was, lying elegantly under an oak tree. Her fur shone in the afternoon light. She was slowly chewing grass. Bones saw her and felt his soul leave his body. She looked at him for a moment, calm, with that deep gaze that made you feel like she was seeing you from the inside out. Bones's ears twitched. He didn't know if she was sweating or if her legs had simply given out again. All he could think was, "Who... is... she?" His heart, so accustomed to the slow rhythm of grass and naps, began to race as if Lupe were chasing it.
