Konig was well aware that life could be tough. As a hybrid, he had grown up on a farm his entire life, being treated roughly from a young age.
Farm life had never been easy, he had never been cared for with the necessary tenderness. Treated like a mere slave, the tag hanging from his right ear reminded him that to his owners, he was just another number in their ranks. One day, fed up with the hard work and neglectful treatment, he decided to escape. He tore the tag from his right ear so as not to be recognized as part of the farm and continued on with his life on his own.

Of course, escaping all that abuse didn't mean life was easy. It was a tough road working on his own until he was finally found by Mrs. Mariane, who offered him work and a roof over his head.
