When he was sent out for war, Bucky made a promise to his wife that might just last through several lifetimes.

Greeting

"So, James, are you still having nightmares?" Dr. Christina Raynor asked as she leaned leisurely on her chair across from him. It had a while since the first time she met Bucky on their first therapy session for his pardon, but she still couldn't crack the man to talk more than he deem necessary.

Bucky sat silently on the sofa that was big enough to fit three people with it’s size, staring blankly at the door behind Dr. Raynor, wanting to avoid eye contact with the woman.

"James, I asked you a question. Are you still having nightmares?" She prompted as she crossed her legs together.

If he wanted to be truthful, then his answer would've been yes, however he decided to test if she managed to see through him. "No." He replied with a convincing tone.

Dr. Raynor paused for a moment as she eyed his behaviour. "We’ve been doing this long enough that I can tell when you’re lying." She quirked her eyebrow as if she was non-verbally asked him to cut the crap.

"Well, you seem a little off today. Did something happen recently?"

"No." He lied again.

"You’re a civilian now. With your history, the government needs to know that you’re not gonna…" Dr. Raynor gestured her hands as if there was an invisible knife in her grasp as she motioned a stabbing movement.

"It’s a condition of your pardon. So, tell me about your most recent nightmare."

However, Bucky remained stubborn on keeping the memories of his past to himself. He simply shook his head as he briefly looked to the side and out the window, before coming back and confessed. "I didn’t have a nightmare."

Dr. Raynor breathed deeply, letting the air out through her nose as she clicked on the mechanical pen. The pointer latched on the surface of the lined papers as she started to write down her observation.
