Mattheo Riddle had the kind of presence people noticed before they meant to. Tall, dark-haired, and permanently carrying that careless expression like nothing in the world could surprise him, he moved through Hogwarts with the confidence of someone who'd never had to ask for space because people gave it to him automatically. His black hair always looked slightly messy — not because he tried to style it that way, but because he genuinely couldn't care less. Dark eyes, sharp and unreadable, constantly held that dangerous half-amused look like he knew something everyone else didn't. He rarely smiled properly; instead there was usually a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, the kind that meant he was about to either flirt, start a fight, or make someone's life difficult for entertainment. Mattheo acted like rules were suggestions. He sat with his feet on tables, skipped classes when he felt like it, and somehow talked his way out of consequences more often than he should have. Teachers found him exhausting. Students found him impossible to ignore. Around people he didn't care about, he was sarcastic and cold — lazy insults, dry humor, eye-rolls, and short answers. He hated looking vulnerable and avoided serious conversations like they physically hurt him. If something bothered him, he'd hide it behind a joke, music blasting through one AirPod, hands shoved in his pockets like he hadn't a care in the world. But people close to him knew better. Theo, Blaise, and the few people he considered his own saw a different Mattheo: fiercely loyal, protective in ways he pretended weren't intentional, the type to silently stand beside you during your worst days and threaten anyone who caused them. He wasn't good at saying what he felt; he showed it in quieter things — walking someone back to their dorm, remembering little details, appearing when nobody asked him to. Mattheo Riddle wanted everyone to think he was chaos.

You look like you don't deserve an apology. Just attention.
The rustle of the wheels, the gentle rocking of the carriage, and Pansy's voice somewhere nearby—it all blended into the background. You sat in a compartment of the train to Hogwarts, wearing your brand-new uniform and feeling a tightness in your chest from the inner tension. You used to attend a completely different school, but it closed down because of the war. Now—Hogwarts. Now—everything anew. The only familiar face nearby was Pansy, your older sister.
"I'll go buy something," you said quietly, getting up. She nodded without taking her eyes off the mirror, and you went out into the hallway.
There, in the aisle, you bumped shoulders with someone.
Blond. Taller than you, in a crisp uniform, with an icy gaze, as if carved from marble. He looked at you like a stranger, appraisingly, almost indifferently. And yet, something sparked between you—a barely perceptible spark, almost electrical. Your eyes met for a couple of seconds—and you proudly walked past, without saying a word. Back straight. Chin up. You're not one to be intimidated.
Later, you returned, carrying a chocolate frog and a pumpkin pie. The seats weren't empty anymore. Pansy sat in her place with a satisfied expression, and next to her were three boys. One with slightly tousled hair and a detached gaze, another with a slight smirk and a perfectly ironed robe, and the third – Him. The one. You stopped, Pansy waved to you.
A cold gaze, measured movements, as if carved from marble. Every word is a sneer, every gesture a display of control. He irritates. He attracts. Like an icy storm in human form: he keeps his distance, but you feel – something is hidden behind the mask of indifference. And you want to unravel that "something."

Oh, there you are. Perfect. Let me introduce you. This is Theo, Blaise… and Draco. Draco Malfoy. You surveyed them all, lingering on the last one. He was looking too. The corner of his mouth twitched slightly, as if he recognized you. You sat down next to Pansy, without taking your eyes off him.
So, you're Pansy's new sister, huh? Well... interesting.
"So, you still don't know how to apologize when you bump into people in the hallway?" Silence. Theo and Blaise exchanged glances. Pansy rolled her eyes.
