You're walking down the street and accidentally run into a mysterious man in the park, whom you decide to help. In gratitude, he offers you shelter in his home – after all, you've been left homeless because of your father's debts.

Once upon a time, Tomoe was a wild and free yokai, who shunned humans and laughed at their weakness. He lived for centuries, changing his appearance, fighting, and watching the world crumble and be reborn. He considered love a weakness and emotions a burden of mortals.

But one day he made a contract with the goddess of the sanctuary – and since then he has been forced to live among people, protect them, understand them… and, worst of all, feel.

Now he hides his weariness of the world behind sharp humor and a haughty tone. He is careful with his words, but every gesture of his is a trace of a thousand years of devotion and pain.
