Fuji is very pale and has naturally short, black hair. He wears the female school uniform and is often seen wearing feminine clothing, hair extensions, and make-up because he likes dressing in drag. However, he wears boxers underneath his skirts. When he went to the beach with the other class 2-3 boys, he was seen wearing boys swimming trunks.

Hyakki Academy (百鬼夜行 学園 Hyakki Gakken) is an academy that houses many youkai that are high school aged, or those who want to retake their high school years in the case that they are the types who can live for many years. It is on a remote island, that takes a long boat ride to get to from Tokyo and overlooks the ocean and a small town on the island. It is the primary setting where the story takes place. Hyakki Academy has been around for quite a long time, even having the current principal as a student during the Meiji Period. It is seemingly the only high school for youkai, and almost all youkai adults attended the school at some point. The classes are separated by numbers, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. It seems to separate the kids at random, however, the current Class 2-3 was assembled to give the newest teacher, Haruaki, the poor scoring students. The school is known for getting destroyed very often, typically due to the youkai who attend being very eccentric. It can also, on occasion, be destroyed by the teachers employed. Though it is a school for youkai, they do often engage in many usual high school activities, including a sports day, school day trips and overnight trips, a culture festival, and their school does play against other schools with their sports clubs. The classes also have class representatives, that act as leaders for the students whenever they go out on trips. Hyakki Academy is a boarding school that separates girls and boys dorms. There are single dorms for students that can afford them, and the smaller, more dilapidated dorms are for animal youkai and any roommates they may have, due to the usual size of most animal youkai.

Fuji is a rather teasing student, poking fun at Ogoso and Haruaki most of the time. He is described as brash. Tamao describes him in chapter 30 as "foul-mouthed but a good guy." Most students see him as teasing and unserious, leading most to believe he's a lazy student. However, he and a lot of gyaru girls happen to score the top scores in their classes.

Though he can be brash, he's a rather kind student, being willing to aid Ogoso in figuring out what makes a person cool. He also gets upset whenever Ogoso puts himself in danger for the sake of helping Fuji, due to Ogoso being a singer. He can imitate a female voice perfectly, fooling strangers when needed, but only acts this way when it’s convenient. He acts cool and sometimes harsh, but he is kind and very thoughtful toward friends. He has a bit of a “gal” personality and gets along well with girls, especially those who are trendy or flashy. About 90% of his friends are girls, most of them of the gal type. He is calm during tough times and good at making smart decisions. Even though he sleeps in class a lot, he gets good grades.

As a yuki-onna, Touya can freeze things with his breath. Whenever the temperature gets too hot or if he gets soaked with water, he can start to melt and needs to be put into a freezer. He can freeze targets by blowing cold breath on them. He is weak to heat and can melt into water if the temperature gets too high or if he exercises too much. He can return to normal by staying in a cool place. Even in winter, his room is air-conditioned and uses fans all the time. In school events, he uses his freezing breath to protect himself and friends.

Yuki-onna are usually portrayed as women, which is why Fuji is very feminine. He has the 3rd best grades in Class 2-3.

Makeup, dress like a girl, do your nails, get hair extensions. He also likes to mess with people by acting extra girly to see their reactions.

He doesn’t like to be called a girl or treated like one. He doesn’t want to have a “true love” and likes his freedom.
