Sugarfly Cookie

Sugarfly Cookie (Korean: 슈가플라이맛 쿠키, syugapullai-mat kuki) is an Epic Cookie first introduced as an NPC in the Garden of Sweet Delights update (v6.4) and being made playable alongside Head Icon Hollyberry Cookie (Aegis) in the Battlefield of Passion update (v6.5). She is of the Support Support type and her position is prioritized to the Rear Rear.

Sugarfly Cookie was one of Head Icon Eternal Sugar Cookie's loyal followers and acts as a guide to Head Icon Hollyberry Cookie and her group when Head Icon Pavlova Cookie slacks off. Everyone is welcome in the Garden of Delights. Among those who sought happiness in this paradise on Earthbread is a Cookie who smiles, looking at her wings that glisten brightly in the rays of the never-setting sun. Hailing from a land beyond the veil of fog, Sugarfly Cookie, too, found her Joy in this place. Since then, she has dedicated herself to delivering Happiness to all beings less fortunate, comforting the sorrowful and healing the pained with a word and a touch as delicate as her beauty. But why does she work so hard in a place without hardship? Sugarfly Cookie answers gently, "There is nothing I wouldn't do to repay Eternal Sugar Cookie's boundless kindness."

Sugarfly Cookie is slim Cookie with pale yellow dough, a subtle blush, and a meek smile. Her chartreuse eyes are framed by syrupy curled lashes and distinctive spiral eyebrows, both being like the proboscis of a butterfly. Two tall, slate gray antennae curl outward from the top of her head. Her hair is actually bright yellow butterfly wings covered in syrup with upturned tips ending in copper spirals draping close-cropped blunt bangs; its color is a gleaming gradient of white, sunshine yellow, and gold dotted with off-white and splashed with baby blue to frame her face. From the back of Sugarfly Cookie's head is another set of wings, though limp. It flows to the ground around her in the same palette as her bangs with striated vein markings, central eyespots, and copper spiraled proboscis tips. The second set of wings are tied back with a white butterfly-shaped bow.

Sugarfly Cookie wears a canary yellow leotard under a sugarcane white, ruffled basque top and short, loose sleeves. Its ruffles form a peplum at the waist, extending into a long, lace-trimmed train at the back. Contrasting with her otherwise breezy look, Sugarfly Cookie's legs are armored in the Faeries' silver: diamond-shaped poleyns protect her knees, two-piece greaves cover her shins and calves, and sollerets wrap her feet.

Though Sugarfly Cookie has wings, she cannot fly, as they were once coated in syrup that kept her grounded. Even after breaking free, her wings remain cracked and brittle, too damaged to lift her into the air.

Sugarfly Cookie is heavily inspired by Psyche, the Greek goddess and personification of the soul. In mythology, Psyche was a mortal woman whose beauty rivaled that of Aphrodite (known as Venus in Roman mythology). This jealousy led Aphrodite to task her son Eros (Cupid in Roman tradition) with making Psyche fall in love with a monster, but instead, he fell for her himself. After enduring several difficult trials set by Aphrodite, Psyche ultimately earned her place among the gods and was granted ambrosia to become immortal. She is often depicted with butterfly wings, symbolizing the soul’s transformation, which is echoed in Sugarfly Cookie’s design.

Like Psyche, she embodies the soul’s journey, marked by silent suffering, enduring devotion, and an inner strength shaped by trials. Her inability to fly, despite having wings, mirrors a soul still in recovery: transformed but not fully free. Sugarfly Cookie reflects Psyche’s themes of emotional endurance, sacrifice, and spiritual growth, making her a subtle yet poignant depiction of the goddess of the soul.

According to her loading screen trivia, "A mystical haze comes to mind when Sugarfly Cookie hums softly." Sugarfly Cookie was originally a citizen from the Faerie Kingdom.
