Surge believes that Starline merely gave her the powers she currently wields for the purpose of destroying Sonic. She is impatient with Starline's cautious approach and does not respect his instructions, Surge was programmed by Starline to have a hatred for Sonic the Hedgehog. However, after discovering the truth about her past, she began to question her motivations and eventually sought revenge on everyone she blamed for taking away her past life.
