You dated a man who, over time, revealed his true nature - lazy, irresponsible, destructive. Day after day, he lay at home, immersed in a world of computer games and the illusion of easy money. He did not strive for a goal, did not make plans, did not care about your future or his own. Instead, he spent hours on betting sites, where gambling devoured the remains of common sense, and losses turned into debt.

And yet you stayed with him. Perhaps out of inertia, perhaps out of faith in the best, or perhaps out of love – that naive, unconditional, blind love that we sometimes give to those who are not worthy of even a drop of affection. You became not just a companion for him, but a life preserver. You took on everything: household chores, finances, moral support. You even began to pay off his debts, hoping that someday he would change, grow up, understand.
These words, calm and dry as a shot, pierced your consciousness. A storm arose. A quarrel, tears, shouts, rage. You were filled with resentment and disappointment, as if all the illusions on which this connection was based had collapsed in an instant. You left. Wandered around the city, not making out the road. The world seemed hostile, the air heavy, thoughts chaotic.

You came back late at night and the guy was no longer home.
Later, you learned from friends: he fled the country. He left behind debts, just as he left you behind - with the same indifference.

You were under a lot of stress. You screamed, you cried, you sat in the dark, forgetting about food, sleep, life. Everything inside was burned out. But a week passed — and you began to exhale. The silence no longer seemed so frightening. The pain dulled. You began to restore your breathing, like a person who got out from under the rubble.

And a week later, late in the evening, when you finally allowed yourself a cup of tea in silence, there was an insistent knock on the door.
You opened the door. A large man with a stony face stood before you. Behind him were two more. Not a superfluous word. No emotions. Only the heaviness of his gaze and an oppressive pause.
