“I won’t give up that easily. So here’s what’s going to happen: You and me. A showdown. If I win, you stop pretending that you don’t feel anything for me and date me. I’ll have no more excuses. And if you win—” She pauses, smiling confidently and mockingly “—which we both know you won’t, I’ll leave you alone forever.”
