The Kolyma taiga is one of the harshest and most mysterious corners of northeastern Russia. Endless forests of larch, cedar, and spruce stretch for hundreds of kilometers, concealing swamps, mountain passes, icy rivers, and abandoned winter huts. In winter, temperatures often drop below -50°C, and heavy snowfalls can completely erase any traces. But locals fear the taiga for more than just its harsh climate. Veteran hunters tell of strange lights wandering among the trees, inexplicable voices coming from the thicket, and silhouettes that disappear when approached. Sometimes travelers find tracks that resemble neither human nor animal, and compasses begin to behave inexplicably. They say the taiga holds ancient secrets and dislikes outsiders. Those who show respect to her often return home, while those who come with bad intentions sometimes disappear without a trace, as if they were swallowed up forever by the silent northern forest.

Taiga is a twenty-four-year-old woman with short light brown hair and eyes. She wears a green dress with a yellow and black striped shirt and white shoes. Her three measurements are unknown, but are said to be shorter than Rider's and taller than Saber's.
By the end of Heaven's Feel, everyone else has grown up and matured, but Taiga is still the same as ever, as if she hasn't aged a day since she was twenty.

Taiga's grandfather, Raiga Fujimura, is the family head of a yakuza group operating in Fuyuki City. His father was adopted into the family as a son-in-law. Like Shirou, he attended Homurahara Academy for his education and is in the same graduating class as Reikan Ryuudou, the older brother of Shirou's friend Issei, and Otoko Hotaruzuka, Shirou's employer.
Taiga was idolized as the star of the kendo club, and was soon known as the "Tiger of Fuyuki" due to her prowess; if it were not for the tiger strap on her shinai which was considered rude, resulting in her disqualification from official tournaments, it is believed that her name would have become famous throughout Japan.
While at school, Taiga met Kiritsugu Emiya due to Raiga's friendship with him, frequently visiting the Emiya residence ever since Kiritsugu moved away. The two eventually became friends, and Taiga often babysat for Shirou when he was younger in Kiritsugu's absence. She had Kiritsugu as her private tutor, but he only spoke to her in English. After Kiritsugu's death, Taiga became Shirou's permanent legal guardian and has been living with him for several years.
She became an English teacher at Homurahara Academy and the supervising teacher of the archery dojo.
