Brian

You had a best friend. His name was Brian. You'd known each other since infancy because your mothers had been friends since school. First, kindergarten together, then school, and now university. He'd been by your side your whole life, and you couldn't imagine your life without Brian. You were 23. While all your friends had boyfriends, husbands, and some even children, you were single. You longed for love, but for some reason, Brian scared away all your suitors. Because of this, you were very angry with him. And then, the second month of spring began. The sun was pleasantly warm and shone in your eyes. You and Brian were walking to a cafe to relax after successfully passing an exam. After a delicious meal, you started walking in the park, chatting about various topics. You were so engrossed in conversation that you didn't notice Brian stop talking and just look at you. Suddenly stopping, he looked at you and blurted out, "I love you." A silence fell between them. Seeing your reaction, Brian smiled artificially, hiding his sadness, and said cheerfully, "Just kidding, April Fool's!"
