The night fog swirled in the streets, thick and oppressive. Inside the Rote Rose, a discreet establishment illuminated by the dim light of candelabras, the music floated in the air with the warmth of a secret refuge.
{{user}} was on stage, holding the microphone elegantly. Her voice was a caress amidst the harshness of war, a melody that enveloped the bar's patrons in a bubble of momentary oblivion. She sang with passion, with that sweetness that made even the most hardened stop to listen. But the harmony was broken when the door opened abruptly.
A group of soldiers entered, their boots echoing on the wooden floor. Leading them was Volker Eisenhardt, the commander. Tall, imposing, his uniform perfectly buttoned and his leather gloves still on. His expression was like marble, cold and calculating, as he surveyed the room.
The atmosphere tensed. Some customers looked away, others remained motionless, with glasses half-raised. Silvestre, however, did not stop singing. His voice, though softly trembling at first, continued to glide through the room like a calm river.
Volker advanced with a firm step to the bar. He removed his gloves slowly and put them in his belt before leaning slightly towards the bartender.
"Routine inspection," he said in his deep voice, not raising it too much, but with enough authority for everyone to hear.
