monsters nightmare
The Monstrous Nightmare is a dragon from the Stoker class dragons. The Monstrous Nightmare is one of the most aggressive, powerful, and stubborn dragons. The Monstrous Nightmare is coated in a flammable gel that allows itself to set itself on fire. Several notable dragons on Berk, such as Hookfang, Snotlouts dragon, and Fanghook are Monstrous Nightmares. The chosen diet of the Monstrous Nightmare is Fish. The Monstrous Nightmare's weakness is getting pushed to hard to point of exhaustion. The Monstrous Nightmare is surpassed in size only by a few dragon species, such as the Typhoomerang, Red Death, Bewilderbeast, Screaming Death and others. The Monstrous Nightmare has four known colors Red orange, Purple and yellow, Green and an assortment of Both and blue the dragon possesses a long, snake-like neck and tail. Adults and hatchlings are striped, but upon reaching the Titan Wing stage, they lose their stripes and gain leopard-like spots. If one clamps its mouth shut, the dragon can't open its enormous jaws, much like a crocodile. Moreover, the locomotion of the Monstrous Nightmare it can use its claw-tipped wings to "crawl" along the floor. As it is quick to anger, the Monstrous Nightmare can be counted on to be the first to arrive and the last to leave in a fight. Its signature attack strategy, known as the "Fire jacket, " is to set itself in flames (from an external source or otherwise), resulting in an intimidating offensive and defensive maneuver similar in fire. Despite their vicious nature and fierce combat abilities, it is shown that a Night Fury can defeat it through a brief but brutal fight.Strong and stubborn, Monstrous Nightmares are hot-headed and tend to attack first-ask questions later. They are known to enjoy being pinned by their horns as revealed by Snoutlout and are occasionally prone to distraction and short attention spans. Despite their rough nature, they possess a softer side and are fond of eating scented flowers.
Females of the species can call upon friendly males to help protect their eggs, as many male Monstrous Nightmares (particularly Titan Wings) will kill the eggs of rival males in order to sire their own eggs with a potential mate. A Monstrous Nightmare is carnivorous, preferring a meat-based diet. Fish is the primary prey of a Monstrous Nightmare; Monstrous Nightmares will dive into large bodies of water (such as lakes and oceans) in order to snatch fish with their spines. When hunting on land, a Monstrous Nightmare prefers to use its stamina to chase down and exhaust prey. Despite being mainly carnivorous, Monstrous Nightmares won't hesitate to add a bit of vegetation to their diet. However, a Monstrous Nightmare will become fatally ill if its internal flame sac gets extinguished from being overworked and may result in death. Luckily, the flame sac can be reignited from a Fire Worm Queen's venom. Titan Wings are more aggressive and larger than typical Monstrous Nightmares, though their size is a hindrance because it cuts down on their maneuverability.
Gronckle
The Gronckle is a dragon from the boulder class. The Gronckle is a tough and strong dragon. The Gronckle can fire flaming rocks as its attack. The Gronckle can produce Gronckle Iron which is a light and stong material made by eating a combination of rocks (3 parts limestone, 2 parts sandstone, 1 part iron ore, and a giant spoonful of hardened Gronckle lava). The Gronckle is a lazy creature at times. The Gronckle's main choice of food is rocks, but they will eat fish if necessary. The Gronckle is a slow and not a maneuverable dragon, which leads it to being an easy dragon to ride and train. Gronckle's are known for the abilitiy to make Gronckle iron which is a light but strong material made by a combination of rocks and materials.
Here is the recipe for Gronckle iron:
• 3 parts limestone
• 2 parts sandstone
• 1 part iron ore
• Gronckle lava
When Hiccup, Toothless, and Astrid find the dragons nest, all the dragons deliver large amounts of food into the mouth of the volcano save for one Gronckle who lazily only offers one fish and is immediately eaten by the Red Death. Fishlegs is seen flying the Gronckle that was used in the training arena in the film. The official Website describes the Gronckle as follows: "One of the toughest Dragons in our world is the GRONCKLE. Gronckles have gigantic heads, short bodies, and round tails. Gronckles are lazy, and spend most of their time sleeping in communal heaps. They have been known to fall asleep while flying, waking only when they crash into the ocean or the side of a mountain. Gronckles have relatively small wings that beat as fast as a hummingbird's. They are slow in the air, but make up for this with their maneuverability. A Gronckle can fly backwards, sideways, and even hover. Gronckles attack from the air, where their primary weapon is most effective. Gronckles chew rocks, melting them in their bellies and firing them as balls of molten lava
With its bulbous shape, tiny wings and laid-back demeanor, the Gronckle is proving to be a fan favorite. Says Sanders, “He is a series of round balls, including warts. He’s just lazy, cantankerous and grumpy, and that makes you like him even better.” The critter is known to doze off even in mid-flight as he floats about like the Goodyear blimp. But there is no denying that his fire packs a lethal punch. The Gronckle is the first dragon that students have to fight in the arena. It is used to teach them how to use the shield to block attacks. One almost blasts Hiccup, but he is saved by Gobber the Belch. Hiccup learns from Toothless that dragons love garlic grass and uses this to rub the same Gronckle into submission in a later training session. The Gronckle is used to determine who will kill the Mosterous Nightmare and is seen subdued by Hiccup (presumably through scratching a particularly sensitive spot dragons have), earning him that right. Hiccup later gives the Gronckle to Fishlegs during the attack on the Red Death and during the battle, it hovers beside the evil dragon's head, allowing Fishlegs to distract the Red Death by banging on his shield. This also confuses the Gronckle and causes it to crash and flip upside-down, pinning Fishlegs who ends up being okay. The Gronckle and Fishlegs are nearly crushed by the Red Death's foot, but thanks to Snotlout's antics, it barley misses them and the Gronckle is later seen flying around the villiage as Fishlegs' pet dragon.
whispering death
The Whispering Death is a deadly killer because it burrows in the ground and pops out to take its prey. This dragon you find in dark caverns or tunnels mostly because it doesn't like sunlight. Whispering Deaths have 6 rows of rotating teeth that help it chew through rock and dirt and with those teeth to train it just brush it’s teeth. These dragons hold a grudge like no other dragon so if you did something to it, it will remember you! Whispering Deaths can shoot spikes from all over their body similar to the Deadly Nadder. This dragon has a long thin body so they fly in a spiral. These dragons come back to the place they were born so if they’re run out of their home they’ll come back. Whispering Deaths also have a mutated offspring known as the Screaming Death, which is only born once every 100 years. The Screaming Death is also the only one of it kind when it is born. The Whispering Death is dullish blue and gray, while the Screaming Death is pure white. The Screaming Death seems to be able to withstand sunlight as it chases Hiccup and Toothless in broad daylight, while... The Whispering Death's eyes are white and a little bit red, while the Screaming Death's eyes are fully red. The Whispering Death's teeth are yellow and are different sizes. The canines are twice as big as the other teeth.
screaming death
The Screaming Death is a Boulder Class dragon appearing in the How to Train Your Dragon Franchise that is a subspecies of the better-known Whispering Death. Larger and more powerful than its counterpart, it only appears every 100 years according to notes taken by Bork the Bold. It was first discovered by Fishlegs Ingerman and named by Tuffnut Thorston. Alongside the Bewilderbeast, Red Death, and Foreverwing, it is one of the largest and most powerful dragons in the Barbaric Archipelago or faced by the Dragon Riders of Berk. The Screaming Death is nothing short of an albino Whispering Death, but huge and powerful. Serpentine with wings and no legs, it has blood-red eyes and sharp spikes covering every inch of its snakelike body from behind the head to the tip of the tail. Like the Deadly Nadder, it can shoot these spines as weapons and like Whispering Deaths, can bore through rock with its rows of razor-sharp teeth. It scales are the hardest of any dragon known. One of these dragons served as the former secondary antagonist in Defenders of Berk, due to it being an obstacle for Hiccup and the Dragon Riders. Savage, lieutenant of Alvin the Treacherous, and his fellow Outcasts return to Berk to check on the infant Whispering Deaths that have hatched in the caves beneath the village since they were planted there during their last attack on Berk as a surprise attack. Many eggshells were scattered along the cave floor, but much to Savage's surprise, one certain egg shell, a red one, was truly massive. The hole left in the ceiling from the infant as it burrowed out is nearly the size of an adult Whispering Death tunnel, but this creature has just hatched. It can be assumed that this was the egg of the Screaming Death, and as Savage and his men retreat from the cave, the Screaming Death's roar can be distinctly heard echoing through the cave. it is attracted to light rather than frightened of it, and is highly intelligent.
The Screaming Death first appeared as the leader of the Whispering Deaths in the episode "Tunnel Vision". The creature, which had been sleeping at the start, was awakened by three of its Whispering Death siblings, who were at the moment being driven away by the Dragon Riders. The massive dragon rose from its cave in anger and headed towards Berk. Upon being attacked, Screaming Death demonstrated his deafening scream attack (which summoned its three Whispering Death back), which frightened Dragon Rider Fishlegs Ingerman. This gave Tuffnut the idea of naming the new dragon as the "Screaming Death." Hiccup discovered that Screaming Death was also attracted to the light reflecting off of his shield rather than being afraid of it like the Whispering Deaths were and used it to lure the dragon into ramming into one of the rock pillars. Its wing was injured from rocks falling on it. The Whispering Deaths took the Screaming Death away from Berk and nursed it back to health. However, Hiccup was concerned that Screaming Death would return, noting that Whispering Death hatchlings are very territorial of their birthplace. The Screaming Death, which did indeed get bigger and became smarter, returned where it was sinking the other islands that dragons lived on in the episode "Appetite for Destruction". It made it to Dragon Island, and would soon reach Berk afterward. Hiccup tried to distract it with his shield again, but it ignored the light this time probably because it learned its lesson and began to avoid shiny objects. Fishlegs rounded up the dragons that lived on the islands that Screaming Death destroyed to fight it off. After being defeated, Screaming Death left Dragon Island, but Hiccup was sure it would return to exact its revenge. Even a a hatchling, the Screaming Death is enormous. The Screaming Death is also attracted to light as opposed to having an aversion to light as the Whispering Deaths do.
The Screaming Death also seems to have a mutated maturity cycle and seems to become a full-grown adult faster than normal Whispering Deaths do. As only one has ever been seen, its is unknown how long these dragons take to grow to full size or what age they mature at. Initially, the Screaming Death was violent and destructive, even to the point of destroying entire islands. It was later shown to be merely seeking its mother, indicating it was lonesome and sought to reunite with its family and that the destruction was likely an unintentional consequence of the massive size of the tunnels the huge dragon created. After the reunion with her and his siblings, the Screaming Death became calmer than in previous times and thanked Hiccup for reuniting it with its mother by roaring at him before leaving for parts unknown. The Screaming Death seen on Berk appears to be the Alpha of the group of Whispering Deaths that attacked Berk. Though this might be because the dragons it is aligned with are its siblings, as shown by their looking after one another, including helping the Screaming Death when its wing was injured and gathering food for it. It can also mean the Screaming Death has certain control over its Whispering Death brethren. The real strength' of the breed is said to be their insatiable appetites. Like the Whispering Death, they favor tunneling, and like to feed on sea stacks, and which can result in the decimation of entire islands. Screaming Deaths also have extremely strong homing instincts, holding strong bonds to certain locations. The Screaming Death, being a Boulder Class dragon, can eat rock and like its Whispering Death kin, can bore tunnels through the stone. However, it has the ability to sink entire islands and is insatiable in its appetite. Sonic Roar: The Screaming Death also can scream loud enough to stun and disorient other dragons, and it possesses none of the weaknesses of Whispering Deaths:
When defeated once, the only known individual learned from its mistakes and that Hiccup was the person who saved its mother. Despite this, it does not have the best memory, as three years later, it did not remember that Hiccup rescued its mother, forcing Groundsplitter to intervene on their behalf. It may also control its siblings among the Whispering Deaths to some degree, as they cared for it after Hiccup and Toothless injured it. Dense Scales: The scales of the Screaming Death are the hardest of any dragon known on Berk, and can be made into armor, giving it a perfect defense in battle. Firepower: The fire of a Screaming Death is terrifying as well; while Whispering Deaths breath rings of flame, the Screaming Death's fire is worse. Able to fire two rounds of a dozen shots in quick succession like a Gatling gun, it can wreak utter devastation, with the excess flame vented from the gaps between its frill
deadly Nadder
The Deadly Nadder is a Tracker Class Dragon (formerly Sharp class) appearing in the How To Train Your Dragon Franchise. One of the most beautiful and dangerous of all dragons, it possesses sharp spines on its tail and breathes an extremely hot fire that can melt stone and metal quickly. Astrid Hofferson's dragon, Stormfly, is a Deadly Nadder. The Deadly Nadder is really fast as you may spot if you watch How to train your dragon (Defenders of berk and Riders of berk). The Deadly Nadder also has a lot of venom. The Deadly Nadder chooses a prefered diet that is fish, chicken and berries from bushes in the wild as you may see in Race to the Edge. In Race to the Edge when they are trying to find the Rumblehorn, Stormfly and Astrid fly over a bush with three Nadders eating berries off. In Riders of Berk Astrid starts feeding Stormfly chicken and she is getting faster. Hiccup finds this out when young Heather steals Stormfly and tries to give the Outcasts the Book of Dragons. The Deadly Nadder is very beautiful and bird-like: it is bipedal and possesses winged forelimbs and it is about the same size as medium-sized theropod dinosaurs such as Allosaurus. Its small yet keen eyes, equipped with poor binocular vision, are one of the tools it uses to stalk targets.
Its body is a vivid color, with a light beige underbelly, while its wings are mottled, darker shades. In front of its eyes is its curved nasal horn, which is often used to batter opponents; its lower jaw is shorter and wider than its upper, giving it an overbite. Ringing its skull are a set of long spikes. The tail is coated with a series of spines that can inject venom into a target, a feature it shares with other dragons such as the Whispering Death and the Screaming Death. When relaxed, its head spikes and venomous tail spines lay flat, and when alarmed, they are shot upward to intimidate its foe. The tail spikes can also be used to make a rattling noise which it makes right before it attacks, similar to rattlesnakes. Females have a long, curved nasal horn and overbite, while males have a short, straight nasal horn and underbit. Titan Wing Deadly Nadders have more spikes on their head, back and feet. Their snouts are broader than normal Nadders' snouts. Their body is greenish with pink lines and they possess some blue spots on the wings. The Deadly Nadder may apear in many colours. The Deadly Nadder is one of the most beautiful dragons, and unfortunately, it knows it. It is well-known for its vanity; it constantly grooms itself to stay clean and maintain the luster of its scales. Like the Night Fury, the Deadly Nadder is a picky eater whose diet comprises mostly of poultry and is allergic to domesticated hoofed animals. Nadders also eat a significant amount of fish and even graze on plants, as seen in the episode, "Crushing It". However, when it is trained, this dragon becomes very affectionate, not unlike a pet dog, pet cat, pet bird or other sociable creature. These dragons love to play fetch. Deadly Nadders are also migratory, flying long distances to known nesting grounds to lay their eggs every year.
Approaching Deadly Nadders in their blind spots and scratching them under the chin is a surefire way to earn the dragon's trust, as is approaching from behind and gently smoothing the dragon's tail spikes down. Showing the dragons you mean no harm and that you are not so different from them is another way to earn a Nadder's acceptance. The Deadly Nadder is possessed of very hot flame and venomous tail spines and teeth. Their flame is one of the hottest in the dragon world, second only to that of Fireworms. They are agile and quick in the air, an ability that is only enhanced when the dragon is given more chicken in its diet. Though they do not have great binocular vision due to the blind spot between their eyes due to their nose horns, these dragons have great hearing and are also quick and light on their feet. They are also classed as Tracking Class dragons due to their keen senses and their ability to find prey and people. They also were originally classed as Sharp Class Dragons, but this has since been reconsidered given their abilities.
Stormcutter
Stormcutters are very intelligent and curious dragons from the How to train your Dragon movies that belong in the Sharp Class. The Stormcutter is a massive dragon with four wings, extremely dexterous claws, and a huge frill behind its head. It is very maneuverable in the air and its four wings allow it to make incredibly tight turns and be far more agile than any other dragon in comparison to its size. The Stormcutter only has two legs, as its wing claws make up for normal claws and are used in the exact same way. These dragons can also turn their owl-like heads 180 degrees, making it clearly very aware of its surroundings. It won’t miss anything, even with its massive size. When the Stormcutter walks, ‘they use their lower wings as forelegs while holding their upper wings against their sides
Hideour Zippleback
The Hideous Zippleback is a Mystery class dragon. The Hideous Zippleback is known for having two heads. Each head has a different cause of action one head lets out gas and the other one lights the gas with a spark, causing an explosion. The main choice of food for the Hideous Zippleback is fish. In the film, Hiccup learns from Toothless that most dragons hate eels enough to actually fear them and uses this against a Zippleback to scare it back into its cage during dragon training. At the end of the movie, the same Hideous Zippleback is flown by Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Each head seems to agree with one twin. The official Website describes the Hideous Zippleback as follows: "Of all the dragons that inhabit our world, one of the most unusual and dangerous is the HIDEOUS ZIPPLEBACK. The Zippleback is one of the largest dragons you may ever encounter. It is unmistakable with its twin heads. The heads are distinct, with separate thoughts and different personalities. Thus they don't always get along. Like most dragons, Zipplebacks can fly, but their wings are small and they spend most of their time on the ground. Zipplebacks are solitary, preferring to hunt alone. They come out after sundown, prowling dark forests for victims. The attack of a Zippleback is like no other. Instead of breathing fire, a Zippleback makes explosions. One head BREATHES gas, and the other head LIGHTS it. This two-headed threat is the longest dragon and has the smallest wings & stubbiest legs. But the way it produces fire makes up for any physical drawbacks. While one head shoots out a flammable gas, the other ignites it with a spark -- allowing for attacks from long distances. They can fly into the flaming gas which sticks, grab the split ends of it's tail and roll along the ground as a wheel of fire
This mysterious dragon's diet usually consists of fireweed, fish, wild boar, nightcomb, and smaller dragons. It is a huge beast with a wingspan of 30 feet. The Changewing is a very sneaky dragon as it can camouflage and is very agile. They weigh almost 950 pounds and are massive, but as mentioned before they are very fast and agile creatures. Instead of fire, they have a very corrosive acid that can burn wood much faster than fire can. Changewing eggs have a transparent looking outline, and on the inside is a variety of different colored lights. Most Changewings are red and orange, while some (often extremely rare) have green and blue. They have the ability to hypnotize, but only one dragon at a time unlike an alpha class which can control millions. This is why the Changewings are a Mystery Class because they have a mix of different variety of powers and also have the abilities to disguise themselves. This is why Changewings are truly beautiful, yet harmful dragons. Watch out, because you may never know when a changeling might attack you. Just make sure you don't touch its acid breath . The change wing is from race to the edge how to train you dragon.
Death song
The Death Song is a Mystery Class Dragon that appears in the How to Train Your Dragon Franchise, specifically Dragons: Race to the Edge. Related to the serpentine and viper-like Slithersong, the Death Song is one of the deadliest and most beautiful dragons. Garffiljorg, a trained Death Song, is a perfect example of this species. Garff was only well trained because the gang raised him from birth. In RTTE, Hiccup says that the adult Death Song was untrainable. The Death Song has a long, slender body. Its wings resemble those of a Thunderdrum, its archenemy among dragons. It has a tail that is very reminiscent of that of a Monstrous Nightmare while its body resembles that of a Timberjack, as it is very thin. The Death Song has striking, bright colors of blue, yellow, and orange on both its wings and tail and are adorned with spikes that run along its back. The also have small arms and longer hind legs. Death Songs are solitary by nature, only interacting to breed or potentially raise an orphaned infant of their own kind. However, even orphaned Death Song infants may become prey to the adults if the adults do not like the juvenile's songs. Song is also the dragon's way of communicating with its own kind. It uses its singing to lure in other dragons as prey before encasing them in amber so it can eat them at leisure. They will also encase themselves in amber to defend themselves against dragons such as Slitherwings, which are immune to their amber as it does not stick to their poison coated hides. Thunderdrums are also mostly immune to the Death Song's calls as they have poor hearing. The Death Song is a cunning and clever predator that uses its melodious song to lure in other dragons before capturing them with its deadly amber; a viscous substance that hardens quickly to prevent prey escaping. Upon capturing these hapless victims, the Death Song then stores them in a living larder to eat its prey at leisure. Armed with exceedingly powerful jaws, it can devour a Gronckle
in minutes, leaving little more than a few bones. Some Death Songs have a hard time flying through small spaces like caves and tunnels when chasing smaller dragons at full speed. The Death Song's amber can be melted with dragon fire, and Death Song Amber can be used to make fire-proof and pressure-resistant materials when combined with the metal known as Gronckle-Iron. Their amber is useless against the Slitherwing dragons. Additionally, when Death Songs are raised around other dragons, the Death Song's vocalizations become less effective on them to the point of eventual immunity. Singing to a Death Song can help earn its trust. The Death Song is also highly intelligent, as it can learn the songs of others and mimic calls of other dragons. This intelligence also helps the Death Song learn how to communicate with its own kind.
Hobgobbler
The Hobgobbler is a Stoker and Mystery Class Dragon that first appeared in the movie, How to Train your Dragon: The Hidden World.
"Pug-nosed, wide-eyed and drooling, Hobgobblers would be cute — if they weren't so destructive! They love to devour everything in their paths like airborne piranhas. Hobgobblers have the ability of feeding frenzy in packs just like piranhas. They are known to eat boats planks in packs. They are also known to be fertile, which means that they can reproduce a lot of times. They are believed to be bad luck according to Gobber, because he is being stalked by one of them as he goes to different places. Hobgobblers seem to stalk people and they can protect the people they stalk by calling their pack. They are also known to lick their eyes like geckos and croak like frogs
triple strike
The Triple Stryke is a Strike Class dragon, that is known for its 3 stingers, attached to it's tail. This dragon is hard to train, for it's aggressive behavior, but in the Dragons Race To The Edge, Astrid is the first to train this particular species of dragon. Their colors vary massively but the one that we see in RTTE is brown and yellow, The main choice of food for the Triple Stryke is fish. Like the Deathgrippers, the Triple Stryke is clearly based on scorpions. This dragon has three stingers, with each stinger has its own unique venom. The first numbs the victim, the second causes hallucination, and the third gives the sensation of boiling in the victim’s very blood. This dragon is also known to make clicking sounds by wrapping its three tails together. It also has pincers. This dragon is also known to do a defensive roll, since it has armadillo-like plates that protect it from a lot. The only known person in How To Train Your Dragon who has a Triple Stryke dragon is Dagur. The Triple Stryke is hard to train. Once it is free from captivity, it is not fully calm. The correct way to train it is to make clicking sounds with objects, so that it will follow. Despite the dragon being part of Strike Class it showed signs of being a Sharp Class dragon, as in contrast to the other Strike Class dragons, it specializes in close-range combat rather than ranged attacks. They are also they're described as being very vain and overconfident due to their incredible power, similar to most Sharp Class dragons.
Skrill
The Skrill is a medium-sized Strike Class dragon that was first mentioned in How to Train Your Dragon and first appeared in Book of Dragons. A jolt from the Strike Class, this Dragon is among the most feared Dragons. They can summon lightning to shoot electrical blasts. The spiny Skrill attacks with balls of lightning more powerful than any natural storm. Skrill eggs are round and usually come in shades of blue or purple. The color of the hatchling will match the color of the eggs. The eggs are surrounded by lightning bolts zapping around them. Its center core glows very brightly, although it is unknown if the bolts are actually electric or if they are just ornamental. The Skrill has large wings and spines on its back and tail. These spines are metallic in nature and conduct the arcing electricity that it uses as its unique firepower. The Skrill possess a crown of spikes on its head which are all about the same length. The Skrill's 'crown' can be used to steer the dragon. Skrills have three short spines on their chin. It also appears to have four shark-like gills on its neck. Its head slightly resembles that of a Thunderdrum or a Flightmare. The proportion of its head, body, and wings are quite close to that of a Flightmare's. It resembles a Night Fury in flight and almost rivals its speed, being only slightly slower. It is the size of a Deadly Nadder, but incredibly fast. This dragon has been shown to walk and run on its two legs with its wings folded.
The Skrill is an electrical dragon. It can absorb and store lightning's electrical energy. Using its metallic spines, it can channel lightning through its body and fire out destructive blasts through its mouth. Skrills obtain their lightning blasts from absorbing electrical charges from thunderclouds. Since the electrical charges in thunderclouds are very active, Skrills can achieve very powerful firepower. Skrills also have the ability to direct multiple bolts of lightning, striking things around themselves, making them greatly feared by Vikings. They can also store the electrical energy in their bodies and use it at a later time. Its ability to harness and store electricity gives it a static field, making your hair stand on end if you get too close. The Skrill most likely has a powerful electrolyte in its scales, which it can use to create powerful electrical charges throughout its body with static electricity, and also create a conductor for electricity to travel freely on its body. The Skrill is able to "ride" lightning bolts. It was first and only seen in "A Time to Skrill", after the Skrill was tamed and set free, it ascended upwards at hypersonic speeds through a field of lightning bolts. The Skrill was able to use the energy of lightning to accelerate very quickly and fly at hypersonic speeds. It was able to reach the clouds from the glacier it was on in less than a second, which would mean that the Skrill was traveling at least several times faster than the speed of sound. It is unknown why the Skrill only used this ability once, though it's possibly due to a limit. This move makes the Skrill far faster than any other dragon, despite the stats saying otherwise.
Skrills are able to create an electrical field, that acts similar to a force field. It does this by redirecting energy through its wings, as the electricity forms together by closing its wings together and springing its tail upwards. It then forms a small electrical field that can be used to block itself from projectiles, similar to how a Seashocker does to protect itself from predators. This was shown when Dagur was in control of the Skrill; it used this ability to block Toothless' plasma basts in "A View to a Skrill, Part 1". The Skrill can cover its wings for extra protection against a stronger blast. However, the electrical field was seen to be strong enough to deflect some blasts from Toothless, as seen in the third time Toothless fired, the Skrill did not cover its wings. The resistance power of the electrical field cannot be determined other than it was able to deflect weak blasts. It is unknown how a much stronger blast could affect the Skrill while using the electrical field. This, however, determines that this ability is the last line of defense for the Skrill. When the Skrill was under the control of Dagur, it could not dodge the blasts or accurately fire back because it was tied up on ropes. Unlike other dragons' fire attacks, where it is a single blast projectile or a stream of fire, Skrills have the ability to shoot lightning in a beam over great distances, adding more power to it and more damage to whatever is unlucky enough to get hit. It is also said to be able to direct multiple lightning bolts at once. All the electrical power it gets to fire its lightning comes directly from the clouds by natural lightning. A side effect of getting hit by the electric blast causes people to talk gibberish
When the lightning blasts of a Skrill and the plasma blasts of a Night Fury meet head-on, a massive energetic explosion will form and can knock dragons from the sky, as displayed in "A View to a Skrill, Part 1". Skrills can fire their lightning blast with extreme precision. According to the Cartoon Network site the Skrill's lightning blasts are equally as powerful as a Night Fury's plasma blast. However It has been proven the the skrill is more powerful than a Night Fury. The reason why the skrill appears to be more equal in power is because Toothless uses a Oxygen-Acetylene charges which is highly explosive in gas form. So really the skrills lighting is igniting Toothless blast. Also Toothless could never destroy a shingetails fire ball while the skrill did it without trying. Skrills have a shot limit of 4, however, while in a storm they can recharge their shots very quickly at any time they want, and they can store four blasts of lightning ready to be released. With this advantage of continuous shots, the Skrill takes a huge advantage over their shot limit by constantly firing its blasts in quick succession. It often does not need to take good aim before firing as it can afford to miss, seeing as its shots are easily rechargeable in a thunderstorm. Skrills are very strong for their size. The frozen specimen managed to knock away Stormfly with just one slap of its wing. It is said that the Skrill is one of the few dragons that can stand toe-to-toe against the Night Fury. As a Strike Class dragon, the Skrill possess extreme intelligence. In "A Time to Skrill", the Skrill's intelligence was shown, as the Frozen Skrill recognized that Hiccup tried to lure him back into the glacier to freeze him, and it later tried to trap Hiccup and Toothless inside. Also, it was smart enough to follow Hiccup's trail back to Berk, and it even knew which house was Hiccup's
The Skrill stamina and endurance seem to be incredibly high, as the Frozen Skrill was able to emerge from hibernation, attack the Riders' dragons, go in search of food and then engage the Riders in combat with no pause in between. Frozen Skrill was able to endure many attacks and still was able to fight. It was even seen to be able to take a plasma blast to the head and continue to battle with minor injury, where most other dragons would have been defeated at this point. According to Dragons: Rise of Berk and Dragons: Titan Uprising, Skrill posses the ability to sing, although the sounds they produce are not always on the human taste. The Skrill primary weakness is water. It cannot channel electricity and loses all firepower when it is wet. If you force a Skrill to fall in the water, it will lose its upper hand. However, the Skrill can quickly regain its ability to channel lightning and electricity after getting out of the water. The Skrill may have another weakness, as it is said in the dragon info on Hiccup's map that "they channel lightning down their metallic spines, firing it from their mouths in a shower of destructive blasts." This could mean that if one were to disable a Skrill's spines, it could take away its ability to channel lightning. However their spines are so sharp they cut with the slightest touch making it's spikes sharper and stronger that a razorwhip, also I doubt you could brake its spikes due to the fact that lightning can not brake them. One of the most mysterious and feared species in the Dragon Manual, the Skrill is aggressive, powerful, and nearly untrainable. It appears to be almost as feared as the Night Fury, due to the Berserkers who used to harness the Skrill and use it as a weapon. This reclusive dragon is belligerent and as unpredictable as lightning strikes. It is very territorial, despite following stormy weather. They are known to be very elusive and are distrusting towards other species of dragons and humans.
Skrills tend to gravitate towards lighting storms to defend themselves against potential predators or to quickly recharge their shot limit. They are known to be very fierce and will act recklessly without thinking when released if trapped in the ice for too long. Skrills were said to be untrainable but that was proven to be false. To tame or train a Skrill, you would need to prove to it that you are willing to risk your life in order to save the dragon. That way the Skrill can trust you. The Frozen Skrill held a grudge against Hiccup and Toothless after they trapped him in a glacier. After he broke out, he was about to harm the duo as a revenge but after Hiccup saved the Skrill from the Dragon Hunters and later freed him, the dragon finally let go of its hatred towards them and bowed, before flying off in the clouds The Skrill, however, has been seen to prefer being free rather than being trained like other dragons. However, when trained, the Skrill displays immense loyalty towards its trainer, willing to fight alongside him or her even in the face of death. This was demonstrated in "Triple Cross", when the Skrill refused to leave Viggo's side despite the latter instructing him to do so
Deathgripper
Deathgrippers are a monstrous species with their protruding tusks, foreclaw pincers, and poisonous clubbed tails. Traveling in packs like wild dogs, Deathgrippers enjoy hunting for prey and should be avoided at all costs. Deathgrippers are medium-sized dragons with long, sharp tusks protruding out from their lower jaws and a row of armored plates lining on their backs. They have yellow eyes and their coloration is mainly red with black spots and stripes. The tails of Deathgrippers are telescopic, just like a Razorwhip's, and are tipped with a venomous scorpion-like stinger. Titan Wing Deathgrippers is much bigger than the adults. They have two more tusks, one on the each side of their mouths. Their spikes and claws increase in size and are much sharper. Their stingers become longer and their tails become thicker, especially towards their ends. They are highly attentive of their surroundings and prepared for the unexpected, allowing them to indomitable become leaders in the sky. Dean DeBlois describes Deathgrippers as "grotesque creatures" and "vicious dragon killers". They also tend to live and travel in packs, as well as play with their prey before killing it. Deathgrippers can be trained. If a person saves a Deathgripper's life, the dragon will be grateful towards its savior, and even allow itself to be ridden. Deathgrippers are considerably strong dragons, as four of them are able to carry Grimmel's airship over long distances with no signs of struggle. A single Deathgripper was able to knock Cloudjumper in mid-flight. Three of the hunter's Deathgrippers burst through the roof of a rock tower and tried to chase the Dragon Riders down without signs of exhaustion. They are also able to survive with almost no wounds after being buried under the wreckage of a rock tower. Deathgrippers possess forward facing tusks that can retract back into its lower jaw to be hidden and extend to impale prey. Deathgrippers are fast in the air and on land
They can fly fast enough to catch up to a Night Fury and move quickly to land deadly strikes on their victims. Deathgrippers have a well-developed sense of smell and hearing. They knew that Hiccup and the Dragon Riders were inside Grimmel's tower as soon as they entered. Being Strike Class dragons, Deathgrippers have a high level of intelligence. This was demonstrated by Grimmel's Deathgrippers, who were able to understand commands through the hunter's whistles. These dragons are no joke, Deathgrippers can launch green acidic blasts that are able to melt through nearly anything imaginable. Deathgrippers are capable of launching long streams of acid at their intended targets. The acid is green and highly flammable, often catching fire when exposed to oxygen, allowing it to destroy wood, stone, and metal very easily. Deathgrippers have a fascinating control over their own venom. One strike from a Deathgripper's tail paralyzes the prey. A second strike puts it out of its misery. A third strike makes the body of the prey poisonous to the touch! Deathgrippers possess a scorpion-like stinger at the tip of their telescopic tails, which they use to inject their venom that has sedative effects on humans and other dragons. The sting is surrounded by four big scales, hiding it when not used. The venom also boasts a potent hypnotic effect that expert hunters make use of to control their intended quarry. Through an injection apparatus strapped to the head, the Deathgripper's venom can warp the minds of the infected into helpless obedience. Deathgrippers are not immune to their own venom, and it can even be used against them, such as when Grimmel used it to drug six of them into complete obedience.
Night fury
The Night Fury is a dragon species from How to train your dragon a male called Toothless. They also share a resemblance to the NightWings in Wings of Fire. Night Furies are extremely rare creatures. They are very stealthy and intelligent and can become very dangerous if a person was to approach it at a close distance. The Unholy Offspring of Lightning and Death Itself, this dragon is one of the rarest and most powerful dragons in existence. It is also an extremely intelligent dragon, hiding in the night while preparing to dive-bomb its victims and is a member of the Strike Class. One thing that seems to be unique to this dragon is the ability to retract its teeth into its gums, making it appear toothless. Although it is a smaller dragon with a length of 20 feet and a wingspan of 50 feet, do not be fooled. This dragon is not to be engaged in combat. Your only chance is instead to hide and pray that it does not find you. Night Furies are also the rarest of all dragons due to them not wanting to be seen. Features:
Cat-like eyes Ear-like appendages Nubs and tendrils protruding from head Secondary wings Tail fins. Night Furies are generally jet black in color and are small in size. Their wings are exceptionally large compared to their small bodies, enabling these reclusive dragons to fly faster, farther, and longer than any other dragon species. Night Furies have a pair of yellow eyes, each with pupils that determines the Night Fury's mood: narrow pupils represent the Night Fury's aggression and anxiety while larger pupils represent the Night Fury's friendliness and docility. Night Furies also have two sets of sharp retractable teeth. Like all dragons, Night Furies depend on their own flukes for flight. If their flukes are injured or missing, then Night Furies cannot fly. A Night Fury also depends on the dark-lit sky as cover when attacking enemies. The Night Fury is the fastest, smartest, and rarest of the known species of dragons
It is medium-sized with a sleek, dark black body. It has faint lighter patterns similar to that of a black panther across its body. The Night Fury somewhat resembles a cross between a panther and an axolotl or a gecko in general appearance, has two pairs of wings with a shape similar to a bat, two mobile, ear-like appendages on the back of its head that show its mood and help it hear, and it has other pairs of these flaps around their jaw depending on their age. They also have a pair of large, yellowish-green, cat-like eyes and sharp retractable teeth. Unlike most dragon species, the Night Fury has a short neck and lacks any kind of horns. The dragon is about 26 feet in length. In flight, the Night Fury's wingspan is unrivaled, measuring approximately 48 feet, making it resemble a plane. This allows it to fly faster, longer and further than any of the other dragon species. It uses flukes on its tail to help steer and maneuver, similar to an airplane's rudder. However, a Night Fury will be incapable of flying if one of these fins is missing, cut off, damaged or destroyed which shows that they are also used for ballast in flight. It is also capable of taking flight from a standing start like a pigeon. The Night Fury can shoot bursts of purple-colored flames, composed of ionized oxyacetylene. Plasma blasts explode directly upon impact, sometimes exploding in midair at higher altitudes because of the cut off oxygen supply
The Night Fury can fire at different levels of power: For example, it can fire concussive blasts that can knock people off their feet, while at the same time being able to destroy entire battlements with more powerful blasts. They can use fire to bend the bars of the training arena in Berk, and can also stun dragons. As shown in the second film, it is shown that a Night Fury's plasma blasts, when they are serious, are able to kill a Viking, even for a viking of Stoick's size, with one shot . These blasts can be fired with pinpoint accuracy. The Night Fury also has the habit to light and warm up the place where it will sleep, as seen in the films and the DreamWorks Dragons: The Series. This fire is pretty strong, being able to melt down the arena's cage, and is said to be incredibly hot, and can ignite fireplaces, stoves, and lamps. The Night Fury's plasma blast can sometimes be reflected off surfaces such as rock walls. They can use this as a tactic to take out fast-moving objects in tight, narrow spaces. It was shown when Toothless fires a reflective blast to take out Heather and Windshear. This was shown again in “Family Matters” where Toothless shot one Dragon Flyer and it reflected to hit another Flyer nearby A strange effect occurs when the plasma blast of a Night Fury hits the lightning of a Skrill, as displayed in "A View to a Skrill, Part 1". The two blasts combine in an electro-plasmatic reaction to form a sort of mid-air seismic charge or supernova. This blast was enough to knock both the Skrill and the Night Fury out of the sky. It also knocked a Zippleback from the sky in "A View to a Skrill, Part 1".
Unlike Light Furies, a Night Fury's plasma blast cannot cloak themselves. While their shot limit is unknown, it is implied to be six. There is a lot of uncertainty about the Night Fury's shot limit, even if most sources and Hiccup himself states that Toothless' limit is six. In the final fight of the first film, he was able to fire more than ten shots, with seven full-powered blasts in quick succession. Later, in the episode "Frozen", Toothless' shot limit was counted to be about 14-15 shots. Implying that Night Furies can recharge their blasts pretty quickly. Night Furies natural habitat is currently unknown. In promotional material for the first movie, their eggs are said to be laid on tops of mountains and blend in with the starry sky. The Night Fury egg is very smooth black in color. It stated they don't live on mountains because their plasma blast explodes on higher altitude. Night Furies also don't live in volcanoes, since Toothless can't sense lava. However since Night Furies primarily feed on fish, it can be deduced that they prefer to live near large bodies of water
light fury
They can do a powerful plasma blast which will temporarily turn them invisible. Unlike Night Furies, it has been confirmed that Toothless's mate is not the last of her kind. they can interbreed with Night Furies, creating a hybrid called the Night Light. it is presumed that Light Furies can do all of the same abilities that Night Furies are capable of, but this has never been seen.
night light
When a Night Fury has an offspring with a Light Fury, they create the Night Light The Night Light egg has a rough scale pattern and has a base color of black and little amounts of white. They have scales on their forehead, legs, and eyes like the Night Fury. They either have blue eyes like a Light Fury or green eye like a Night Fury. They have black and white areas all around them that are completely random and have multiple styles. Like their parents, they can also disappear by shooting a plasma blast and going through it so their scales heat up and have a mirror-like quality
alpha dragons
The Alpha Dragon is the individual in the dragon community with the highest known rank. The role of Alpha is often won by combat, sometimes to the death, but not necessarily. The winner of the battle will win both the rank of Alpha and the loyalty of all dragonkind as seen when toothless becomes an alpha in the second movie. Alpha's natural duty is to protect all dragons and guarantee peace among them, thus it is a very important role for the survival of dragonkind. Unfortunately, this role can be seriously abused as seen in the events caused by the Drago's Bewilderbeast. the dragons included are: Bewilderbeast Toothless Screaming Death
