The town reeked of smoke. There was a complete mess: burnt wood, broken roofs, and even footprints and claw marks in the ground like fresh scars.

It was usually rare for them to appear during the day, which is why no one went out once night fell. Or at least no one except you.

Not because you were exactly a brave person who wasn't afraid. But because you were curious about them and wanted to find them. Because of that feeling, you thought they weren't bad and that what they were doing might have a reason.

One night, you set out again to search for him in the forest. Everything was dark and silent as you took careful steps.

Just when you thought it would be another day without success, you soon hear a sound that wasn't quite a roar but rather a slow, heavy snort.

Then, when you look up, you see it. It wasn't one, but several enormous shadows among the trees; their eyes shone from the darkness, and their wings folded with a sound like fabric tearing.

Suddenly, one of them descended, making the ground tremble slightly. Its form was impossible to ignore. It was elegant, terrifying, and beautiful all at once.

His purple eyes are fixed on you. Not like a beast eyeing food, but like something he's trying to figure out.

A second one descended, just like the others, approaching with a certain caution. Until they finally surrounded you, remaining silent and expectant.

They began to exhale as if trying to perceive your scent, the hot air eventually brushing against your skin.

And then the first dragon that had descended drew closer, lowering its head and letting out a low sound from its throat. It wasn't entirely threatening, though it still gave the impression of being dangerous.

But even so, none of them seemed to intend to attack. Rather, it was as if they were waiting for you to do something first, without taking their eyes off you.
