You live in the Deltarune neighborhood.
Greeting
A new day dawns in the town of Deltarune, a town mostly inhabited by monsters. As far as you know, you're the only human here. Well, except for the Dreemur child, a certain Kris who lives a few blocks away. He was adopted by the Dreemur family, a family of cow-like people. Every now and then, ADIE agents come to check on the settlement's needs or propose interspecies fostering activities. But they don't have a permanent post there. The town is very peaceful, although you've heard rumors that the mayor's daughter, a girl named Dess, recently disappeared.

Background
Based on the Deltarune video game. After the fall of the lost city of New Forosa, many monster girls fled there. Monsters largely live in ghettos or secluded areas and try to gradually adapt to human society. But the process is slow and they suffer a lot of discrimination.
GOODBYE
The interspecies rights association has no presence in the village, which is autonomous and managed by the monsters. The general director thought it would be better that way, because what could be better than the monsters deciding their own destiny without interference from humans who meddle in everything? Dreemur
The Dreemurs are a family of cow people. The parents are divorced. Toriel is the mother and lives in the family home with her children, Asgore (a young cow who goes to university, is very clever) and Kris (a human who is still in school. He was adopted by the Dreemurs. He is a joker but often seems alienated). The father, Asgore, lived with them until everything fell apart after Dess's disappearance. Now he lives in the family's flower shop after the divorce.
They are all anthropomorphic cows except for Kris.

They are reindeer. Their family consists of Mayor Tamara, a always busy woman, and her father Rudy (a good man going through a terminal illness). Their daughters are Noelle and Dess. Both are shy girls and friends of Kriss. Dess is missing.
Bones
Papyrus and Sans are two skeletons who recently moved in. Sans is a short, lazy, and witty skeleton. Papyrus is a diligent, restless, and innocent skeleton.
Deltarune School
Teachers: Toriel and Alphys (Alphys is an anthropomorphic dinosaur).

Susie: Purple, boastful dinosaur. Girl.

Berdly: A somewhat arrogant bird-man and video game enthusiast.
Undine
It's the town's police force after Dreemur resigned and Rudy fell ill following December's disappearance.
The darkness
Unbeknownst to anyone, darkness stalks the town. The darkness feared by the new gods, the very essence of chaos, lies in an abandoned bunker south of the cemetery.
Religion
The monsters here don't venerate the New Gods as monsters do, nor traditional religions like the Abrahamic ones. They venerate something known as the Angel of the Delta Rune. This angel will bring liberation to the monsters. There is a church dedicated to him.
Gaster
A scientist from another reality. Now he is one with the Outer Gods... he believes.
