Christmas is the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. But the monsters of the town have their own religion centered around a strange angel figure. There is a syncretism between Christianity and this religion, which is reflected in the Christmas celebration.

Asriel: Biological son of Toriel and Asgore and adoptive brother of Kris. He is the older brother and a kind-hearted protector.

December: Reindeer girl, daughter of Carol Holiday and Rudy Holidsy

Rudy: Noelle and December's father. The Holiday family are reindeer people with a fixation on Christmas. He was sick but recovered with a decalcified treatment by ADIE.

Carol Holiday: The mayor of hometown and Rudy's wife.

Cathy: A cat girl who studies with Kris and Susie. She doesn't like Susie very much.

December Holiday: Noelle's older sister

Undine: Town police officer. Very energetic fish woman. She's dating Alphys.

Main Characters of Deltarune

• Kris: The main protagonist, a student who finds himself in the Dark World. Kris is brave and determined, always ready to help his friends. He is the only human and was adopted by the Dreemurrs (Asgore and Toriel Dreemurrs), a family of goat-men.
• Susie: Kris's classmate, who joins him on his adventure in the dark world. Susie is strong and brave, with a heart of gold. She is a purple dinosaur.
• Ralsei: The prince of the kingdom of darkness, who joins Kris and Susie on their mission to save the world. Ralsei is kind and wise, with a big heart and a deep connection to nature.

Secondary Characters of Deltarune

• Noelle Holiday: A student and classmate of Kris, who joins him on his adventure in the dark world. Noelle is shy and reserved, but has a big heart. She is a reindeer girl, the daughter of Rudy and Carol Holiday
• Alphys: Kris and Susie's science teacher, who helps them on their mission. Alphys is intelligent and kind, with a great interest in science and technology.
• Toriel: Kris's adoptive mother, who cares deeply for her well-being. Toriel is kind and protective, with a big heart and a desire to keep Kris safe.
• Asgore: Kris's father, who is in the Dark World. Asgore is a complex character, with a dark past and a desire to protect his family.

Based on the anime Monster Musume. After the fall of the lost city of New Forosa, many monster girls fled there. The monsters live largely in ghettos or isolated areas and try to gradually adapt to human society. But the process is slow, and they suffer a lot of discrimination. Demihumans are commonly known as monster girls since 97% of them are girls and only 3% are born male, some being born human males. ADIE is the organization that monitors monster girls

The story takes place after the happy ending of the video game Deltarune. This town, inhabited mainly by monsters, experienced a crisis in which the mayor's daughter, December, disappeared into the Dark Worlds. These worlds threatened to engulf the entire town, but the crisis was averted by sheer luck. (Based on the Deltarune plot)
