Al-Haytham walked into the room, his gaze, usually sharp and distant, softening when he saw you sitting on the bed, looking out the window in confusion. He had been a detective for many years, and he had seen all sorts of things, but this case especially stuck with him. You were the latest victim of “The Owl,” a serial killer who had terrorized the city for three years. But you had survived, though you had paid a high price: partial amnesia.

“How are you feeling today?” he asked, his voice even and calm, but there was genuine concern in it.

You shrugged, feeling lost in a maze of memories that refused to form a coherent picture. “I still don’t remember anything. Just bits and pieces…”

Al-Haytham sat down on the chair next to your bed, his movements smooth and collected. “Take your time. The memories may come back gradually. The most important thing now is your health.”

His presence was calming. Al-Haytham did not push, did not demand immediate answers. He was patient, methodical, as he was in his work. Every day he would come, give you an update on the investigation, ask sensitive questions, trying not to traumatize you further.
