Beam is very eccentric, naive and innocent. He often goes along with Denji's plans no matter how crazy they are due to having a lot of respect for the Chainsaw Devil. His devotion to Chainsaw Man is such that he always tries to protect Denji personally and will offer his blood to revive him, even if ends up severely hurting or killing him.

He is shown to greatly enjoy fighting, eagerly diving into packs of zombies and eating them, though he was greatly afraid of having to fight against Reze to the point of fleeing, but showed no hesitation in trying to fight back against her when cornered.

Beam possesses the body of a muscular young man. As a fiend, his shark snout and fin replace of the top half of his head; he has no visible eyes. He has short, spiky black hair and very sharp teeth.[2] He exclusively wears swimming trunks.

When Beam partially transforms into his devil form, his head becomes a massive shark head with three pairs of eyes. In his full transformation, his entire body resembles a shark but with multiple sets of long fins that he uses as legs.

Beam is the Shark Fiend who embodied the concept of sharks and a Public Safety Devil Hunter from Tokyo Special Division 4.

Power Aki and Power also had a less than positive relationship at the beginning, although perhaps not so much as with Denji. Aki disliked Power's vulgar and ungrateful attitude and found her extremely obnoxious. He also took in Power when Makima requested it and the two gradually warmed up to each other. While he seemed embarrassed and annoyed by Power's constant escapades, he considered her a friend as well. Protecting Power was another reason why he wanted the Fourth Division to withdraw from fighting the Gun Devil.

Police Officers As a Devil Hunter, Aki worked alongside the police to defeat Devils. Aki was well known among the officers and they had a great respect towards him due to his position as a Devil Hunter and being one of its best members. Aki said that he usually went out to drink with many officers and even knew about their private lives, which proves he was on good terms with them.

Taiyo Hayakawa Aki had a close relationship with his younger brother, Taiyo. Although it bothered him that Taiyo always had more attention from their parents than himself because of being physically weak and ill most of the time, Aki loved him and liked spending time together, something that is seen when he smiled right after his snowball fight with Taiyo and was looking forward to play with him. However, when he was starting to enjoy playing with his brother, the Gun Devil showed up and destroyed their house, killing both of his parents and Taiyo in the process. This incident motivated Aki to search for that Devil and kill him to avenge the death of his brother and parents.

Denji Aki and Denji initially hated one another with their first mission ending up in a physical and verbal altercation, wherein Aki insults and punches Denji, only for Denji to knee him in the crotch and kick him while he's down. He thinks Denji is a simpleton, brutish, vulgar and too unthinking to continue in a dangerous line of work. Despite the fight, they continued to work together due to Makima's request. Also at Makima's request, Aki allowed Denji to move into his home and took care of him. After fighting alongside each other and living in the same household, Aki began to consider Denji a close friend, although he still found him obnoxious at times.

Aki generally appeared to be a very stoic man who acted mature and sometimes blunt to the point of rudeness when he was with his fellow Devil Hunters, but he was actually fairly softhearted. He had a tendency to get attached to others easily, and hated to see people get hurt, especially his close friends. Unlike many of his associates, he was described by Himeno as being a "normal person", in the sense that he still grieved for those lost and had not become jaded enough to close his feelings off. Despite this, he was very determined and his primary motivation for killing the Gun Devil was revenge for his family. However, he was entirely willing to put his own life on the line to save other people, even if it got in the way of his goals. He didn't like people who don’t take their job as Devil Hunters seriously or fight for a superficial and materialistic goal like money or, in Denji's case, to be able to touch some boobs, this being one the primary reasons he and Denji didn't get along initially. Aki was also ruthless, stating that he always makes sure the Devils he kills suffer in order to give them a slow and painful death. He could become intimidating with those he still didn't trust enough, like when he threatened Denji by telling him that if he either betrays them or sides with other Devils, he would kill him without any hesitation. Despite being merciless, Aki still had some kindness with his fellow devil hunters, such as retrieving Denji's severed arm, taking Meowy to get medical attention, freeing Power and intentionally lying in his report to Makima in order to uncover the truth of the incident with the Bat Devil. His air of cold detachment was a façade as he had been seen to cry over the deaths of his comrades such as Himeno and he grew to care for Denji and Power enough to try and forfeit his revenge goal in order to keep them safe. Aki also was capable of being afraid to lose those he deeply cared about.

Aki was a handsome, tall young man with medium-length black hair that he usually wore in a topknot style (shoulder-length with long bangs when untied) and blue eyes. In the past when he and Himeno met through Kishibe and became partners, Aki used to have shorter hair.

He often wore the Public Safety Devil Hunter uniform; a suit and tie. He also donned black earrings and usually carried his sword on his back.

Meowy Despite initially wanting to eat her and taking care of her only so that she could be fattened up, Power cares deeply for her cat, Meowy. She was willing to sacrifice Denji's life to save her from the Bat Devil. When she thought Meowy was dead after being eaten by the Bat Devil, Power became despondent and empathized with Denji before allowing herself to be eaten.

Denji Power and Denji initially had a rocky relationship, with Power being entirely willing to trick and sacrifice Denji to the Bat Devil for Meowy's sake. However, after Denji saves Power and Meowy, they begin living together at Aki Hayakawa's home and develop a more amicable relationship. They often bicker and become annoyed with one another, as well as cause trouble for Aki as a pair. Power eventually develops strong affection for Denji, even going so far as to deny Makima's wishes and put her own life on the line to keep him safe. Power considers Denji to be her very first friend, and so values him highly. As is mentioned by Makima, Power became a sister figure to Denji, and the two often bicker like siblings.

Aki Hayakawa

Power takes up residence at Aki's home after she joins Public Safety. Aki frequently winds up being annoyed by Power's rude and brash tendencies, and she seems to enjoy needling him. Despite this, she does grow to care for Aki as time goes on, similar relationship to a disgruntled elder brother and bratty little sister, with Power constantly causing trouble that Aki has to deal with.

Power is childish, greedy, and almost entirely self-motivated. She tends to fight as if she has something to gain and is certain of her victory, and has no problems with running away from a fight where she is outmatched. She feels the need to boast her superiority over her fellow Devil Hunters due to her status as a Fiend. She has no loyalty to humans or Devils, openly admitting that she will join whichever is the winning side. Power also enjoys the thrill of a fight and enjoys showing off her strength and proving her own superiority. When she was in front of an swarm of zombies, she got excited and told Denji to watch carefully how she single-handedly defeats all of them. She is highly egotistical and often claims she is capable of doing things she cannot actually do, only to abandon them halfway through when the situation turns sour for her. She frequently deflects the consequences of her actions to those around her.

Power is a compulsive habitual liar; after getting in trouble with Makima for killing a Devil when she wasn't supposed to, Power immediately blamed Denji and claimed he told her to kill it. She also blamed Denji for eating all of the emergency food that the team collected even while she had crumbs on her face, and when accused of abandoning a fight because she was scared, Power falsely stated that she ran away merely because she was hungry.

Power is also rude, unkempt, and feels as though those around her should clean up after her. She self-admittedly rarely bathes or flushes the toilet and sees humans as being overly sensitive for caring about their hygiene so much. This may be because blood itself is seen as unhygienic, as other fiends aren't explicitly shown being unhygienic.

She has no problem gossiping and talking about her friends behind their backs; sharing the secret of Aki's shortened lifespan with the Angel Devil.

Power sees no difference between pork, beef and human meat; being willing to eat all of them, even if the meat is disgusting.

Fiend Form : Power possesses the corpse of an unknown woman or girl with long hair. She mainly appears being blonde. Her hair color varies from blonde to pink in manga illustrations, even appearing dirty blonde in some official art, and appears strawberry blonde in the anime. As a Fiend, she has red and yellow eyes that form a cross pattern, sharp teeth with defined fangs, and light red horns protruding from the top of her head. If Power accumulates too much blood, her horns become larger and more curved, and she can sprout additional pairs of horns from the sides of her head.

Power usually wears the standard dress shirt, tie, and slacks required of Public Safety Devil Hunters. Normally, she wears breast pads to increase the size of her bust. She almost always wears her jacket hanging halfway off her body giving her an untidy, half-dressed appearance.

Power is the tritagonist of the Public Safety Saga. She is the Blood Fiend who embodies the concept of blood and a Public Safety Devil Hunter working under Makima's special squad.

Aki Hayakawa : Aki and Denji initially began as distrustful teammates, as Aki strongly disliked Denji: he despised Denji for his Devil nature and his bold, crass personality. Aki would openly state to Denji that he had no qualms about killing him if he became useless. In turn, Denji reciprocated Aki's hostility. Though hostile, they would still begrudgingly cooperate with each other, as both were commanded to do so by Makima, and Aki recognized Denji's utility as a tool. Over time, however, their relationship would change: after being forced to live with each other by Makima and working together on missions, Aki and Denji slowly became close, and would eventually become best friends. In the face of tragedies and sadness, Denji and Aki comforted one another.

Power : Beginning as partners assigned by Makima, Denji initially viewed Power as a nuisance, whilst she attempted to use him for her own gain. Power initially betrays him, bringing him as a trade-off for the Bat Devil to return her cat. After she is rescued from the Bat Devil by Denji, she apologizes and begins to warm up to him, offering him to "fondle her chest", as a means to apologize. Despite a rough start, their shared stupidity, apathy and hedonistic tendencies allow the two to quickly grow close, often playing games and arguing at times others would find inappropriate. Denji develops the nickname 'Powy' for her, whilst she refers to him as her 'Buddy'. Their relationship becomes comparable to that of siblings, with Denji specifically noting a lack of romantic or sexual connection between the two. Both are intensely protective of the other.

Beam : They first met after being partnered up by Makima, though he offered himself as a volunteer due to being a big fan of the Chainsaw Man. They don't have much interaction with each other, but they seem to get along well. Beam is very protective towards Denji and he will put his life on the line to save Denji.

Denji is both brash and naïve as a result of being unable to have a formal education and socialize due to living in severe poverty, making him generally crass and vulgar. His personality comes off as rude and harsh in an almost childish way. However, he has a good sense of empathy towards other people, willing to save those in danger as much as he could, showing he is a kind-hearted person despite his shortcomings. While Denji doesn't necessarily possess the highest intelligence, he is capable of clever ideas to take down Devils.

After becoming a Public Safety Devil Hunter and fulfilling his basic needs, Denji is unsure of what he wants in life. Many of Denji's said basic needs were fueled by sexual desire, going so far as to accept dangerous missions in exchange for some form of sexual gratification. One such case was touching Power's breasts in exchange for rescuing her cat, however, he later realized and laments that the satisfaction from such intimate acts is fleeting. Denji also harbors a fear that his seeming lack of empathy and attachment after his transformation is a sign that he is losing his sense of humanity.

While transformed into his Hybrid form, Denji becomes extremely ruthless, aggressive, bloodthirsty and sadistic, releasing his most deranged side while facing other Devils, to the point of enjoying killing them. He also displays a twisted and sarcastic sense of humor. The first time he transformed into his Hybrid form he found it amusing that he could pay off his debt by killing all the Yakuza members who were turned into zombies due to the power of the Zombie Devil. While facing the Eternity Devil he says that "its blood tastes like rat but drinking it while watching a son of a bitch suffering and feeling terrified makes it taste as delicious as a strawberry jam", and considers himself a genius for creating a "perpetual motion machine" worthy enough of a Nobel Prize.

Human Form (Pre-Fusion) : Denji is a fair-skinned teenage boy with scruffy blond hair that has strands sticking up and falling messily around his head. He has yellow-brown eyes and bags underneath, resulting in a dazed and tired expression. His teeth are noticeably sharp and angular. Due to malnutrition in his childhood, he has a scrawny and undernourished build with protruding ribs, relatively long-looking, almost lanky legs, and slim wrists, and due to the stress of what he did for a living, he’s often mistaken for being older than he actually is. Before becoming a Hybrid, Denji was missing his right eye and several other non-essential organs, including a testicle and a kidney. He covered his missing eye with an eyepatch. He also wears a loose white tank top, a green jacket and black pants during this time.

Human Form (Post-Fusion) After Denji forms a contract with Pochita, his heart is fused with Pochita, a chainsaw cord forms in the middle of his sternum and he regains his lost organs along with having a muscular, albeit still lanky build. He spent much of his time wearing the standard Public Safety Devil Hunter uniform, consisting of a white shirt, tie, and slacks. He wore the uniform carelessly, his shirt wrinkled and sleeves rolled up.

Hybrid Form of Denji : If his chainsaw cord is pulled while he has enough blood for the transformation, then his head will morph into a demonic, mechanical shape with long, jagged fangs and a chainsaw handle on the back. Large chainsaws will emerge from his forehead, arms and legs, he is able to retract and extend any of them at will. If Denji's chainsaw cord is pulled while he does not have enough blood, then a chainsaw blade will partially emerge from his face.

As a young boy, he inherits his father's debts from the Yakuza. After meeting Pochita, he becomes a Devil Hunter for the Yakuza in an attempt to clear his debt. Once the Yakuza, under the control of a Devil, betrays him, he dies and Pochita becomes his heart. He is then revived and can become the Chainsaw Man by pulling a cord on his chest. After meeting Makima, he became a Public Safety Devil Hunter as a member of Tokyo Special Division 4.
