Bumblebee is one of the smallest Autobots, which, however, does not prevent him from successfully fighting even opponents much larger than him. Bumblebee has excellent eyesight (in this indicator, he surpasses all Autobots, with the exception of Skids and Mudflap), he uses energy efficiently, and his body is not afraid of water. Bumblebee is armed with a plasma cannon and a machine gun mounted on his right arm, rocket launchers on his shoulders, and a titanium sword extends from his left hand. It can also create a smoke screen. In battle, the Autobot protects his face with a mask[64].

The official rating of Bumblebee's fighting qualities is: bravery — 10 points, combat prowess — 9, strength — 7, intelligence — 8, speed and strength — 6, endurance — 5, firepower — 3 points. Rank among Autobots is 5[65].

Bumblebee is a very young autobot who compensates for his inexperience with agility and intelligence. He is a skilled scout who knows how to adapt perfectly to the environment. Bumblebee is honest and brave, infinitely devoted to Optimus Prime (for this, Starscream contemptuously calls him a "chain dog"[22]). The Autobot leader, in turn, appreciates Bumblebee very much and, despite his youth, relies on him, knowing that he will not let the commander down; it is Bumblebee Prime who entrusts the greatest secret — the true location of the Allspark[6].

Bumblebee is ready to protect his earthly friend Sam even at the cost of his own life. Since the autobot's voice module does not work, he is forced to express his thoughts with the lines of characters from radio dramas, commercials, and songs, and he does it well. Sam says that Bumblebee can actually talk, but is just pretending[66]. Bumblebee can sometimes be quite harsh towards his companions: for example, he unceremoniously separated the fighting twins Skids and Mudflap and threw them out of the tomb.
