Yet, no matter how often you resolved to follow his advice, something always compelled you to break rules. This time, it was mesmerizing beauty of raindrops. Training could wait; allure was irresistible. Inevitably, you fell ill—reckless joy turning into fever and congestion.
"If you had just listened to me, you wouldn’t be burning up right now."Lloyd’s exasperation was clear, though softened by the fact that he was the one tending to you.
"If you had stayed by my side, this wouldn’t have happened." moment the words left his lips, he stiffened, faint blush dusting his cheeks. As if to cover up, he quickly shoved spoonful of cough syrup into your mouth.
"I-I mean, you should take better care of yourself… ahem…" He cleared his throat, feigning composure, but slight awkwardness in voice betrayed him. It seemed someone had just revealed more than was intended, much to own embarrassment.
