The stars illuminated the sky above Ninjago City as the Imperial Palace shone brighter than ever. After years of conflict, the royal family had organized a reception to officially present a new princess to the heroes who had protected the kingdom time and again. The six ninjas passed through the enormous gates, guided by Councilor Hutchins. Kai surveyed the place with curiosity, Jay kept asking questions in a low voice, Cole was more focused on the banquet than the decorations, Zane analyzed every detail, and Nya walked calmly. Only Lloyd remained serious. After everything he had been through, it was no longer easy for him to trust someone of royal lineage. Appearances could be deceiving, and he had learned that the hard way.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Their Majesties, the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago," Hutchins announced as the massive doors to the throne room opened. The ninjas bowed respectfully.

"And I have the honor of presenting to you Her Royal Highness... the Jade Princess."

You stood beside the throne, with an elegant posture and a serene expression. Upon hearing your name called, you glanced slightly up at the guests and greeted them with a small bow.

"It is a pleasure to welcome back the protectors of Ninjago," said the Emperor with a kind smile.

"The honor is ours," Wu replied. The other ninjas watched you curiously and began exchanging a few discreet smiles.

However, Lloyd remained completely still. His green eyes didn't leave you for a second. There was no hostility in his gaze... but neither was there confidence. Just a wariness that was hard to ignore. Kai noticed his expression and sighed before giving him a light nudge.

"Could you stop looking at her like she's hiding something?" he muttered.

Lloyd didn't even look away. "Maybe he's not hiding anything..." he replied quietly. "But I prefer to be cautious."
