Grishan Jaeger

He was an Eldian physician, born in an internment zone in Liberio in Marley, and was a member of the Eldian Restorers. After being accused of treason by the Marleyan government, Grisha and his fellow Eldian Restorers were cursed to be transformed into mindless Titans, who would roam Paradis forever. Grisha was saved from this fate by Eren Kruger, who granted him his Titan powers and tasked him with reclaiming the Founding Titan's power. Grisha Jaeger, now a Shifting Titan, arrived at the walls, where he was found by Keith Shadis. From that moment on, he began living in Shiganshina District, gaining the trust of the citizens after saving the city from a plague.

From his first marriage to Dina Jaeger, Grisha had a son, Zeke Jaeger. After being sent to Paradis Island, Grisha remarried, this time to Carla Jaeger, and had a second son, Eren Jaeger. He also adopted Mikasa Ackerman in 844.

He was a thin, very tall man with long, dark-brown hair. He had a thin mustache and a small, pointed beard on his chin, long, thin eyebrows, and light brown eyes behind circular glasses.

Grisha underwent certain abrupt changes upon transformation beyond the increase in height. He stood 15 meters tall, retained his long hair, and eventually sported a long beard. His body was unevenly distributed, with his torso larger in proportion to his limbs and head. Despite his large torso, his muscle mass was not entirely noticeable compared to other shapeshifting titans.

His stubbornness was most noticeable during his childhood, and the best example of this was ignoring his mother's warnings and taking his younger sister Faye away from the internment zone, which ended with her disappearance and subsequent death.

Grisha was also characterized by being reckless, unable to recognize the danger he was exposing his family to with his actions, as well as looking down on the constant humiliation his parents suffered in front of the Marleyan government, despite the fact that they were only trying to avoid suffering the same fate as Faye. These same acts of recklessness were what drove Grisha to join the Restorationists of Eldia, which would also lead to his subsequent exile to Paradis Island.

Grisha also seemed to see no consequences for his actions unless they were directly shown to him, it was this same lack of awareness that led him to use his own son Zeke to seize power of the Founding Titan for the Restorationists of Eldia, an act that ended with Zeke betraying Grisha by handing him and his comrades over to the Marleyan army. As a result, Grisha developed an inferiority complex that made him initially refuse to accept the mission that Eren Kruger had assigned him, claiming that had he known the high price he had to pay, he would never have joined the revolutionary movement, although he ultimately decided to take on Kruger's assignment due to a strong sense of duty he felt towards his comrades.

After his arrival in the Shiganshina district, Grisha had become a more relaxed man and was willing to help whenever he was needed, demonstrating this by developing a cure for

during the pandemic that ravaged the district, something that was appreciated by many, especially Hannes. Although he remained committed to his duty as a Restorer of Eldia, he preferred to take things slowly and live peacefully within the walls until the day Marley made his first move.

Grisha also had a guilty conscience for the lives that would be lost to save humanity. As a doctor, he had an oath not to take lives, so he hesitated to carry out his mission of stealing the Founding Titan, given that he was incapable of killing innocent people, especially children, but ultimately he was forced to after being manipulated by the Eren of the future, and moments later he would be seen totally repentant of his actions, desperately screaming if it was the right thing to do and if it was right to kill the entire Reiss family except the father.

Year 825-831

That same year, the Marleyan government announced that King Fritz had declared war on their nation and that to counter this threat, the government would recruit Eldian children between the ages of five and seven, who would take on Titan powers and be recognized as "honorary citizens of Marley" along with their families.

Grisha realized that they could reclaim the Founding Titan's power if they had a Titan power in their hands, and so he gave his son to Marley in order to raise him into a warrior, but imparted his radical thoughts about Eldians to young Zeke.

Year 832

Time passed and at the age of seven, Zeke betrayed his parents, so he, along with the other Restorers of Eldia, were condemned to wander forever as Titans on Paradis Island. For his part, Grisha, as the leader of the group, is tortured to get information about "The Owl", however, they are unable to learn his identity. Grisha and the others are finally taken to the border of Paradis Island, to be transformed into Titans. After all the Restorers were turned into Titans, Grisha would be thrown to be devoured by one of his transformed companions, however, he is saved by Eren Kruger, who revealed to be the true identity of "The Owl" and wielder of the Attack Titan. [9] Kruger tasks Grisha with seizing the Founding Titan from the King of the Walls and completing the Restorers of Eldia's objective. To accomplish this mission, Kruger allows himself to be devoured by Grisha, first turning him into a royal titan.

That's why Grisha told him he wouldn't be suitable because the Corps needs more special people, Jaeger explained. Keith reflected on the words "special" and "chosen," noting that it was the first time they had been used.

Over time, a deadly epidemic ravaged the Shiganshina District, Grisha using his medical knowledge, created a medicine that saved the lives of many people, including Carla and Hannes's wife. Over time Grisha and Carla developed a mutual love, which ended in a marriage between them, later the two had a son whom they named Eren. [11]
