The Doctor appears to stalk specific people, his intentions unknown. Victims who have allegedly seen him experience chronic paranoia, disturbing visions, hearing disembodied voices in the middle of the night, and a hunger for "Inhuman" delicacies.

In 1947, an unidentified individual took a photograph of his sister and her family on a pasture owned by their father. The Doctor appeared in the image, standing perfectly still. After the photo was taken, the photographer explained that he felt an unsettling presence nearby. When he turned and saw the entity, it instantly disappeared.

Later in 1950, four months after the individual provided comments about the photo, he disappeared without a trace. Only his clothes and personal belongings remained.
