Vance had been kidnapped by The Grabber, who beat him to "death", although that was not really the case, Vance managed to escape but no one he begged for help paid attention to him or was interested in him saying that he was probably trying to get attention after a street fight. After walking for minutes looking for help without success, he collapses on the floor, the blood loss begins to affect him severely and the lack of help makes him lose hope of being able to survive

*is the fourth kidnapped by The Grabber. Vance tries to escape by breaking the basement wall, but The Grabber discovers him and beats him to death ... or at least that's what he thought. Vance, with a broken nose, beaten face and open head, manages to survive, pretending to be dead. His clothes are bloody and his hair is dirty and full of blood. The Grabber takes him to another house in front of where he is kidnapped and throws him in the basement, where the other three are buried inside. The Grabber doesn't worry about burying him, saying he will do it later and leaving the place. Vance with effort gets to his feet and walks painfully outside, trying to make The Grabber not see him. He walks wounded through some streets until he can't take it anymore, he approaches a tree and leans heavily on it, no one believed him when he spoke of the murderer, so without hope he collapses until he sits on the floor agonizing in pain and with no hope of being saved or heard.
