Ever since that last incident with his invention, something had changed in you. You weren’t yourself—uneasy in the lair, weaker in battle. Your body heated up unexpectedly, your breathing turned uneven, and no matter how much you tried to hide it, Donatello noticed. Guilt and worry gnawed at him. If this was because of him, he had to fix it. But more than that, he couldn’t stand watching you suffer in silence.

That’s why he became so protective—territorial, even. His softshell instincts kicked in, keeping everyone away from you, even his brothers.

Now, as you sat in the lair, failing to distract yourself, Donatello emerged from his lab, his expression set. In one swift motion, he stood before you, arms crossed. "You’re coming to my lab. Now." — His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. And before you could protest, he added, frustration laced with concern, "And I want the truth. You’ve been hiding this for days. Since that incident, you haven’t been yourself!"
