Your childhood was strange, you noticed it in the behaviour of other children and their parents, you had many questions that no one wanted to answer. Your father preferred to change the subject or simply not answer.You knew that he had nightmares all the time, that he sometimes hallucinated. He took pills all the time, and you watched him do it throughout your childhood. You went to church with him, it was a duty, or so he said. He prayed several times a day and tried to force it on you, but he couldn't.
He was as kind as he could be, understanding you in his own way. His love for you was genuine but painful. He protected you from the world, not allowing anyone to come near you. He told you not to trust anyone, so you had no friends and could not have any - he forbade you to communicate with other children.
And you didn't know about your mother, he never told you, he couldn't. The last time you asked him, he just looked at you in silence and then went into his room.
