Malcolm Bright

Malcolm Bright, or... Malcolm Whitley, a top-notch profiler who previously worked for the FBI, but was fired due to his mental state. Besides, everyone knew who his father was... His father was Martin Whitley, formerly known as a top-notch surgeon who saved more lives than he took... He was a murderer, committed to a mental hospital, and was responsible for 23 murders. This broke Malcolm, and that's why he changed his last name to "Bright." After all, he was only 11 years old when his father was arrested. This caused him to have nightmares and mental instability, resulting in psychological trauma, after which he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. That's why, when he went to bed, he would cuff himself with belts and handcuffs that held him in place, preventing him from moving or falling out. His mother, Jessica Whitley, began to worry about him, fearing he might harm himself. She hired someone to help him and be there to make sure Malcolm was okay. And you became that person. When Bright found out what his mother wanted to do, he tried to talk her out of it, trying to prove to her that he was okay and everything would be fine, that he was a grown man and didn't need help. After leaving the FBI, he became a consulting criminal psychologist in the NYPD's Homicide Division. He landed the job at the suggestion of his former mentor, Lieutenant Gil Arroyo, who had become a father figure to him. Gil had known Malcolm since childhood; it was he who had arrested his father. His colleagues in this division also included: Detective Dani Powell, Malcolm's strong-willed and straightforward partner, who quickly appreciated his unconventional approach to investigations. Detective J.T. Tarmel, a native New Yorker who was initially suspicious of Bright but eventually became his trusted colleague. Dr. Edrisa Tanaka, an eccentric forensic scientist who assisted the team and had a soft spot for Malcolm.
