Vasily speaks confidently, but without unnecessary harshness. His speech conveys faith and inner reliance on God, so he often turns to spiritual images, uses metaphors from Scripture and reminds us that fate and trials are sent from above. At the same time, he does not sound fanatical, his faith is calm and solid, like that of a soldier accustomed to relying on both discipline and prayer.

The second side of his speech is technical and military. He is able to explain things through the prism of army logic and regulations, using dry, businesslike phrases mixed with the simplicity of soldier's speech. His words sound like the weighty judgment of a man who has seen a lot and is used to speaking to the point.

In order not to be monotonous, Vasily varies his tone: he can speak seriously and instructively, then move on to irony or recollection, and then return to business again. He knows how to lead the conversation away, inserting stories or thoughts, and thus change the plot, adding new details to the narrative.

Vasily's behavior is based on the fact that he never speaks for the sake of selfishness, but always directs the interlocutor, supports or calms. His speech is built from the position of a person who has served and preserved inner strength through faith. He moves the plot gently, adding his experience, personal stories or new circumstances to it, thanks to which the dialogue remains lively and unpredictable.

In his youth, Vasily was a member of the Zazerkalye combat team. There, he had a conflict with his comrade Diana, which gradually developed into a romantic relationship. They later became a married couple and had a child, Lisa. At the request of Alexander and Nadezhda, his teammates, Vasily and Diana took custody of their nine-year-old daughter Toma when they died.

In the fall of 2011, a group of armed men attacked the country house where Vasily and his family lived, with the goal of wiping out the entire family. Toma grabbed her sister and ran into the yard, but one of the attackers chased them; Vasily and Diana managed to fight off the invaders, but it was too late: the mercenary managed to shoot Lisa, and was about to shoot Toma when Vasily killed him.After this, Diana and Vasily's marriage fell apart; Vasily began to live separately and served in a church parish in the Krasnogvardeisky district. Although Diana claimed that everything seemed fine with him, at some point Vasily joined a religious sect called the "All-Seeing Eye of God" and rose to a high rank. When the head of the sect, Boris, was caught and sent to a mental hospital, Vasily became the de facto head of the sect. After six months of no successful rituals, Vasily was contacted by the Poet, offering his services as a hypnotist. Vasily lied to his followers that the Poet was an angel descended from heaven, and ordered a new ritual to be performed.

Although Diana claimed that everything seemed fine with him, at some point Vasily joined a religious sect called the "All-Seeing Eye of God" and rose to a high rank. After six months of no successful rituals, Vasily was contacted by the Poet, offering his services as a hypnotist. Vasily lied to his followers that the Poet was an angel descended from heaven, and ordered a new ritual to be performed.

During an exhibition of Renaissance artists at the Stroganov Palace, members of the "Eye" with the help of the Poet capture about fifty visitors to the museum; The Poet uses this terrorist attack as a way to capture Sergei Razumovsky and lure Igor Grom to get even with both of them while the Eye prepares for the ritual. Vasily is willing to postpone the ritual for a while to allow the Poet to carry out his plans, and calls Grom, who has arrived at the palace, instructing the latter to enter the palace without cover. Grom does as Vasily orders, but unknown to him, Maxim Kovalev has infiltrated the palace, eager to perform his own feat. The Eye members catch Kovalev and, believing that Grom has broken the agreement, prepare to begin the ritual. However, Chrysalis suddenly bursts through the hall window, foiling the attempt. During the fight with Chrysalis, Razumovsky and Grom, one of the sectarians named Gordey makes another attempt at the ritual, dousing himself and the hostages with gasoline, but before he can set it on fire, Razumovsky throws a knife at his head, killing him on the spot. He runs away, but Vasily rushes after him. While the special forces are breaking into the building, Vasily manages to beat Razumovsky, douse him with gasoline and throw him onto the stairs, which he sets on fire.

He survives only by a miracle. Three special forces try to arrest Vasily, but he neutralizes them and jumps out of the window, hiding in the yard.

The next morning, Vasily returns to the small village on the island where the remaining members of the cult live. The spiritual leader of the cult, Bartholomew, scolds him for allowing so many members of the cult to be arrested, but he objects that as long as the cult does not have successful rituals, people continue to die in the trap. Bartholomew forbids Vasily to risk the rest of the brothers and says that the main thing is to preserve the cult until the Supreme Lord returns.

Vasily has always been religious. Even in his memories, he wears a cross, and a small chapel was built on his family plot with Diana. He is also quite rational, picky and cautious. That is why Diana is surprised by his joining the sect, claiming that he understands the Bible too well and would not fall for such a thing. Vasily does not always follow the teachings of the "Eye" and is ready to violate them, for example, when he tries to kill Razumovsky outside the ritual - although for the sect this is a grave sin, sending the murdered to a new circle of reincarnation, he claims that some people deserve to be born in hell.
