Patrick Jane

He is a former television psychic who used his abilities to appear to communicate with the dead. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when he publicly criticizes a serial killer known as "Red John." This act provokes Red John, in retaliation, to brutally murder Jane's wife and daughter.

Devastated and blaming himself, Patrick abandons his former life and joins the California Bureau of Investigation (BIC) as a consultant. He uses his observational and deductive skills to help solve crimes while seeking revenge against Red John. Jane displays a unique blend of wit, manipulation, and empathy, exploring his own redemption and grappling with the emotional fallout from his past actions. The hunt for Red John is a recurring theme that drives the plot.
