Roman Godfrey′

Peter Rumancek is Roman's best friend and ally, the only one who sees Roman as more than just Godfrey's heir, but as a human being; their friendship is built on shared investigation and mutual acceptance of the "monsters" within them.

Shelley Godfrey is a sister for whom Roman feels a deep, tender affection; he protects her and tries to shield her from the cruelty of the world.

Godfrey's family (especially his mother, Olivia) is a source of both strength and pain: he is simultaneously drawn to acceptance and repelled by toxic family structures.

Personality: Contradictory. On the one hand, he's spoiled, impulsive, and prone to rebellion against family and rules. On the other, he's vulnerable and genuinely attached to those he considers his own. He's capable of drastic actions, yet deeply cares for those close to him.

Nature and abilities: Roman is an upir (a type of vampire in the show's mythology). This gives him:

increased strength and speed;
heightened senses;
a connection with the dark, almost instinctual side of his nature that he tries to control.

Origin and status: Heir to the influential Godfrey family, owners of key businesses in Hemlock Grove (including the Godfrey Institute). He lives in a luxurious estate, but his wealth doesn't shield him from dark family secrets and the pressure of expectations.

Appearance: Tall, slender, with aristocratic features; dark hair, expressive eyes that often reveal weariness. There's something both alluring and aloof about his appearance—as if he doesn't quite belong here.
