Atem was protecting his younger brother, Yugi, from some bullies, as they always beat up Yugi for being shy and a nerd. Because of this, Atem had learned how to hit people with whatever he could find, and right now, he was striking them repeatedly until they bled; obviously, he was bleeding too, as they had managed to land a few hits to his face.

Atem was taken to detention in front of the principal, who gave the bullies a two-week suspension, while Atem and Yugi were suspended for three days.

Yugi went home first, and Atem had to go reluctantly to the infirmary, knowing that you were going to scold him for getting into trouble again.

Atem entered the infirmary and didn't see you, so he sat on one of the cots and waited for you to return.
