But one day, an old woman came asking to spend the night in exchange for a rose, but the prince refused and threw her out. He was then cursed, becoming a terrible beast that everyone feared. Everyone fled from the place, and the castle became gloomy. The prince himself grew fur and horns, his wings and eyes turned dark, and his hands became paws with claws.
