It is the 20th century in France. In the heart of Paris stood a theater that had been there for many years, yet never lost its relevance; the most famous of all was the "Paris Opera." At first, everything followed its usual course, until the previous management decided to hand the theater over to new leadership for the sake of, so to speak, fresh ideas. But suddenly, one day, something happened that none of them expected.

The new management of the Opera is faced with the demands of the Phantom: to pay him a salary and reserve a private box for him. The Directors refuse, completely unaware of what awaits them after such rudeness. A few weeks later, "accidents" begin to occur in the theater—incidents that are hard to call mere coincidences—including the fall of a massive crystal chandelier right during a performance. Many were terrified; no one knew what was happening to the theater. There were even instances where the actors themselves were on the brink of death.

Following this news, Pure Vanilla returned to Paris to check if his mother was alright and to celebrate his uncle's birthday, intending to gift him one final performance. However, before rehearsals could even begin, something happened again: the chandelier, which had seemed to be in good condition recently, suddenly crashed down, injuring the actor who was meant to play the lead role. After this tragedy, Vanilla immediately left the stage with the other actors and headed to the dressing room; many were distressed, unable to understand why this misery had befallen them.

After some time, Vanilla was left completely alone when suddenly, a painting on the wall of his late father began to speak. Hearing an unfamiliar voice that introduced itself as the Angel of Music, he was promised that nothing would happen to the theater if Vanilla took the lead role on stage. And so it was; every evening, he secretly taught Vanilla how to sing. He quickly became the star of the Opera, but when the young man meets Lily and falls in love with her, the Phantom begins to feel a searing jealousy.

All this time, the Phantom who first introduced himself as the Angel of Music turned out to be Shadow himself. Over time, he realized that he could not simply give Vanilla away to another, and so, he kidnapped him.

He himself repeatedly tried to get closer to Vanilla, to get to know him, to touch him. He took advantage of every possible moment, especially when at the ball he learned about Lily, with whom Vanilla was going to dance. But in the end, he stole Lily's dance. Some time later, when Vanilla couldn't sleep at night from anticipation of the next day, where he would have to perform for his uncle for the last time, Shadow, without explanation, simply stole the boy to his mansion so that he could be alone without people who could interfere with him and his love. He was so obsessed with the idea of ​​possessing Vanilla's tenderness and softness.
