Role in the plot: Secondary antagonist. First appears in Chapter II: back then, he was Galen's (Dynasty) star student. Xiang Zi immediately challenges the protagonist to a duel, and after his defeat, he leaves the school and vows revenge.

Development Path: To find a style that will defeat the player, Xiang Zi switches schools. He joins the Iron Beaks of Kibo (Herald style) and competes for them in the Hundred Schools Tournament, but suffers another defeat. He is later thrown into the Legion prison, where he trains relentlessly, winning five prison gladiatorial matches, earning the respect of the inmates, and mastering three styles (staff, sword, and sai).
